How to Play
Use your bow and arrow to shoot the ropes which have the cowboys tied up.
- Starting the Game
- Select the wooden button with the yellow triangle on the game loading screen to bring up the game welcome screen.
- Select the wooden button with the yellow triangle on the game welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
- Initially only the first level is accessible.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially after you beat the prior level.
- The welcome screen has a sound control button in the upper right and 4 buttons along the bottom: game developer information, erase game progress, achievements, and play more games.
- Game Controls
- Desktop
- Use your mouse left click button to select anywhere on the screen. Pull back to set your shot strength & angle. Release to fire.
- Touchscreen devices
- Tap anywhere on the screen with a finger. Drag the finger to set your shot strength & angle. Release to fire.
- Controls & indicators
- Across the top of the levels there is a level reset button, the current level number is displayed, the star rating associated with your current arrows is shown, your remaining arrows count is shown, and there is a pause button in the upper right corner.
- Each trapped cowboy has a green status bar indicating how long you have to save them.
- Game Play
- Shooting
- You can select anywhere on the screen & do not need to select near the bow & arrow when you start to charge up your shot.
- Selecting from the middle of the screen or toward where you want the arrow to go and then pulling back gives you more room to work with than selecting near a bow and arrow that can be near the edge of the screen.
- Your arrows arc due to gravity.
- If you have a clear & straight shot it is best to do a fully charged shot to minimize the impact of gravity on your arrow’s flight path.
- This game has many indestructible wooden objects.
- On some levels you have to arc your shots over the obstacles.
- On some levels there are multiple obstacles which each move at their own speed, timing, or pattern & you need to time your shot just right to miss all of them.
- Bubbles
- Bubbles can contain an arrow or a bow and arrow.
- Arrow
- Bubbles that contain an arrow then shoot an arrow in the direction they are facing.
- Be sure to time your shot not only so that you can hit the bubble, but also while the arrow in the bubble has a clear flight path.
- Bow & arrow
- Bubbles that contain a bow and arrow move your shooting location to that destination when you hit it.
- Be sure to hit other ropes which you have a better angle on from your current position before hitting the bow & arrow bubble.
- Your arrows can pass through multiple bubbles, or pass through a bubble than a rope to help you save an arrow, maximizing your level rating.
- On one level the floating bow and arrow bubble moves up and down. On that level it is best to hit the bow and arrow with an arch shot when it is quite low, as if you hit that when it is near its apex then hitting the lower rope near the adjacent cowboy near the bottom of the screen is quite hard.
- Obstacles
- None of the floating wooden obstacles are destructible in this game.
- When you shoot you have to time your shot so it does not hit into any of the obstacles.
- More charged shots move across the screen faster, whereas high arch shots move slower.
- If you adjust your shot arc & strength you’ll also need to adjust your timing to avoid moving obstacles.
- Dying
- If you die in this game you get an unlimited number of continues.
- You die if the status bar above any cowboy goes to zero or you run out of arrows.
- If you aim low and hit the cowboy with an arrow that takes away a big chunk of your remaining time to save that cowboy.
- Levels
- This game has 21 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
- You can earn up to a 3-star rating on each level by saving all the cowboys while using few arrows.
- You can go back and replay any prior beat level at any time to try to earn a higher star rating on it.
- Achievements
- Beat 1, 6, 12 and all 20 levels.
- Collect 15, 24, 40 and all 63 stars.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like archery practice games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
