Sheep Alien Abduction Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Click on the green and white play button in the center of the welcome screen.
    • This will bring up the level select screen.
    • On your first play only the first level is unlocked.
    • You unlock subsequent levels by beating prior levels.
    • You can go back and replay previously beat levels.
  • The welcome screen contains a sound control button in the upper left corner and a more games button in the lower right corner.
  • Your web browser automatically stores your level progress and star rating on each level.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Click the left arrow key to move left and up.
    • Click the right arrow key to move right and up.
    • Click both left and right arrow keys to move straight up.
    • Momentum versus direction
      • You do not control your UFO’s direction, but rather its thrust, which can shift it’s momentum then direction. There is a lag to the controls.
      • If you press nothing your UFO falls.
      • Tapping the keys at the right frequency is the key to slow and controlled movement.
      • When you pick a sheep off the ground it can provide a tug pulling back on your ship.
  • Mobile
  • The game shows your star count and sheep collection (as well as how many sheep there are to collect) in the upper left corner. The pause button is top center & the sound control button is top right.
  • When you pause the game it brings up a menu in the center of the screen to restart the level, go to the level select screen, or resume play.
• Game Strategy
  • Time & Speed
    • The game does not have a time limit, so traveling at a slow and controlled speed gives you greater odds of success, particularly when operating in tight areas.
    • Keep in mind when you provide thrust you are trying to change momentum, then direction, so there is a lag to the controls, particularly if you were moving in the opposite direction you wanted to go.
  • Exploration
    • Some items are in the background and are just there for design.
    • Some items you will die if you run into.
    • Some items you can’t hit, but will knock the sheep off your beam.
    • A lot of the above categories are intuitive based on the look, feel & presentation, but if you are uncertain don’t be afraid to test those parts of the level early before completing other tasks.
  • Dying
    • If you run into buildings, blocks, fixed planks, the striped red edges of the level, or your launch pad your ship explodes and it is game over.
    • When you die you can start from the current level, but you have to re-collect the stars and sheep again.
    • If the sheep you carry run into the above items they do not die, but they can get knocked off your beam, forcing you to have to go pick them back up again.
  • Scoring
    • To beat a level you must bring all sheep to the launch pad.
    • You can beat a level without collecting the stars in it, however your level rating is based on how many stars you collect.
    • You can collect stars by running your ship into them or by dragging sheep into them.
  • Strategy
    • Make sure you collect the stars before returning the final sheep to the launch pad as the level ends when all sheep have been collected.
    • If you are stuck on a particular sheep you find hard do that part of the level first and then do the easier sheep later.
    • If you keep dying going after a hard to reach star consider exploring if there is a way to get a sheep to touch it instead of your ship, or beat the level without that start to unlock other levels & then try to come back and get that star later.
