- Coins & experience
- Each regular enemy you kill drops a coin which is worth 3 experience. Bosses, enemies with mounted machine guns & enemies with rocket launchers drop a pile of coins worth 30. You have to run over the coins to collect them.
- When you die you also get credit for enemies downed (1 point each), weapons found (10 points each), other level destruction, and bosses down (100 points each).
- Coins can be used to buy character upgrades.
- Upgrades
- This game has 6 items you can upgrade.
- Each item can be upgraded 10 times.
- The cost structure for item upgrades starts off at 100 and goes up by 100 each time that feature is upgraded: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 & 1100.
- For each item the total upgrade cost is 6,600 & it costs 39,600 to fully upgrade all 6.
- The items which can be upgraded are:
- Pistol: Stronger basic weapon.
- Armor: Endure more damage.
- Magnet: Longer lasting pickup pulling.
- Shotgun: Stronger and more ammo.
- Machine gun: Stronger and more ammo.
- Bazooka: Stronger and more ammo.
- Your pistol is equipped by default. The magnet and other guns are pick ups which you collect inside the game to equip.
- The most important things to power up initially are your pistol (since it is equipped most of the time) and your baseline defense.
- Pickups
- You can pick up any of the 3 powerful gun types (shotgun, machine gun or bazooka) inside some crates.
- Some crates have a bulletproof vest inside them which makes you temporarily invincible for a few seconds while others may have a health ration that restores health.
- When you down enemies they may leave other pickups including coins and magnets.
- You can have multiple pickups equipped at the same time. Any equipped pickups are shown at the top of the screen. Underneath each pickup it will show how many seconds they have remaining, or, for guns, how many bullets they have remaining.
- Strategy
- Your character automatically fires forward and walks.
- The only way to stop the motion of moving forward is to stand behind a fixed object.
- Almost any fixed object will work: a ravine, a bunker, a crate, a wall, or a bush.
- The key to doing well in this game is to try not to let enemies get too close to you on a vertical basis while being horizontally to your side, as enemies can shoot horizontally while your shots are generally vertically oriented.
- If they do get close to you then you may want to simply run into them. You will take some damage, but they will then be gone.
- Keep moving back and forth while there are no enemies so that when one appears in the screen there is a good chance you will hit them. And when you engage an enemy it makes sense to move back and forth slightly to avoid their bullets while being able to shoot them.
- The level has oil drums you can blow up, crates with bombs in them you can blow up, and crates with health and guns. Be sure to leverage these at the right time to do maximum damage to your opponents.
- You can change your aim left or right by moving in that general direction, otherwise you will keep shooting forward.
- Levels
- Each level consists of a regular terrain to walk through and a fixed boss battle at the end of the level.
- If you die you can continue an unlimited number of times and restart on the level you died on.
- When you beat a level the next level begins immediately & you can not use your gained experience to buy upgrades until after you die.
- Boss battles
- Bosses shoot a steady stream of bullets with a periodic pause. You want to lead the boss across the screen with near constant slow motion so you can keep hitting them while staying out of the way of the bullets they shot.
- Some bosses are moving trucks while other bosses are a high-powered fixed gun in the center of the screen.
- Some bosses also drop additional enemies into the screen. It is important to take out the other minion early before they compound as the more things that there are firing at you the greater the odds you get hit.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for people who like vertical scrolling shooting games.
- This game has guns & when enemies are downed it does show blood for a second.
- Other than the above the game has no adult themed content.
