- Game Play
- Movement
- When you move left or right you move a couple character’s worth each time you move, so if a platform is narrow you may not be able to adjust your position without falling off or running into an obstacle.
- You can shorten this movement length by doing a light tap for a short duration, though timing it & predicting movement length is hard.
- A big part of what makes this game so conceptually difficult is when you go to move left or right you move large distances horizontally with very little effort, whereas when you try to climb with the jetpack it requires a lot of effort to move a short distance (with the exception of the triangle boost, which acts like a high-powered trampoline).
- Jumping & flying
- On some levels you have to jump rather high, while on some levels you have to jump rather far. Each requires separate strategies.
- Your jetpack contains a limited amount of fuel which can be used at a time.
- Your jetpack replenished to full fuel status each time you land on solid ground.
- Jumping high
- Jump & release then tap the jump again and hold it in to go as high as you can.
- In some cases you have to jump onto a higher platform to add vertical height to your jump ability, then jump back across to collect gems.
- Jumping far
- Jump off a platform then only intermittently tap the jetpack feature.
- Ensure you do not waste any of your jetpack power bumping your head into a wall.
- Repeatedly doing multiple short bursts of the jetpack will keep you in air longer and allow you to move horizontally longer than if you only press it once and hold it.
- Triangles
- When you land on a triangle you bounce off it rapidly in a way that keeps your momentum.
- The triangles act like a supercharged trampoline. They make your movements quite difficult as they shoot you upward fast & in some cases can throw you into obstacles.
- You can repeatedly jump on a tringle, though touching a triangle does not restore your jetpack charge the way that standing on a static platform does.
- Keys
- As you progress through the game & into later stages some stages have keys you have to collect to unlock the level exit.
- On some levels when you collect the key that unlocks the level exit you also destroy some of the platforms you stood on to get across the level, requiring precise movements to jump across multiple triangles in a row & some of these jumps requiring a jetpack usage to extend beyond the impact of the triangle.
- Dying
- You die any time you run into the lava or any of the spinning red squares.
- This game offers unlimited continues.
- When you die you start at the beginning of the level you died on.
- Levels
- This game has 21 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
- You can go back and replay any prior beat level at any time.
- You beat the level by moving your white square jet to the large yellow portal at the end of the level.
- Gem ratings
- Each level has 3 yellow gems on it. Each gem you collect is worth a gem rating.
- You can beat levels without collecting all the gems on them.
- You can go back to prior beat levels to collect gems you missed on prior plays.
- Strategy
- If you can beat a level but are struggling to collect all the gems on it then just continue through the game to play other levels & come back to finish the level 100% complete after beating all the other levels.
- Since later levels are more challenging it will typically be quite easy to collect gems on earlier levels.
- Since your jet pack depletes each time you use it & only recharges when you are standing on solid ground it helps to map out your level progress in chunks where there is safe spaces for you to stand in between movements.
- Levels are not timed, so break them down into easier discrete units.
- Using the jetpack in short bursts allows it to last longer than using it for a longer period of time continuously.
- Even if you can jump from triangle to triangle it can make sense to land on any fixed platforms between them to recharge your jetpack.
- If there is a particular gem which is hard to get & you are trying to get to 100% complete try to get the hardest gems first so that you only have the easiest parts of the level remaining.
- In general it can be helpful to get the gem in a manner where you are moving away from danger. For example, if there is a red square above a gem consider approaching it while falling from above and only tap lightly to adjust elevation rather than trying to dramatically climb from below it.
- As much as possible one should try to arrange their level route path so that they minimize switching directions while in midair.
- On level 15 you have to fly right to collect the key and then fly back left, but on most levels you can generally fly in a single direction until you get to another safe position before flying again.
- If there are two parallel paths to go to collect a gem it is best to fly into the direction where there is a fixed floor and no objects (so that you can land recklessly and only worry about the flight) rather than flying over obstacles only to have to precisely time a landing between more obstacles.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like challenging level escape flying games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
