Stupid Zombies Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button in the bottom center of the welcome screen to bring up the stage select screen.
    • Each stage has 30 levels in it.
    • You can play the 4 stages in any order, but within each stage levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels, level scores, and level star ratings.
  • The upper left corner of the welcome screen has a full screen mode button.
  • The upper right corner of the welcome screen has a settings button where you can control game sound and music.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse to aim and the left click button to shoot.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to aim and shoot.
  • Controls & indicators
    • If you have already beat a level it shows your best score on that level in the center of the screen for a brief period of time.
    • Your current level score shows bottom center.
    • Your remaining bullets show in the lower left.
    • The stage select screen shows your beat levels, total game score, and cumulative stars across the top. It also shows your stars earned and stage-based scores on each stage.
    • The level select screen shows how many stars you earned on each level.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • You are given a limited number of bullets on each level to defeat all the zombies.
    • You can shoot zombies directly, or knock things into them.
    • Some levels contain complex layouts including narrow passages or switches you have to activate to create openings for your shots.
  • Stages
    • This game has 4 stages which you can play in any order, though the game gets harder as you advance through the 4 stages.
  • Levels
    • Each stage of the game has 30 levels in it, for a total of 120 levels throughout the game.
      • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any point in time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by defeating all the zombies on it by the time you use your last bullet.
      • You lose by running out of bullets while some zombies are still alive.
  • Strategy
    • Zombie order
      • Try to go for the harder to reach zombies first when you can.
      • You never know how shots will ricochet the third or fourth time & you may take out some of the easier zombies while trying to hit the harder to reach ones.
      • If a zombie is hard to reach with a shot try to see if there is something you can knock into it instead.
    • Ricochet
      • Even if you have a straight shot you may want to opt for a ricochet shot if the shot is on a fairly flat plane.
      • By using a ricochet shot with some vertical movement you enable the shot to hit zombies in other parts of the level instead of bouncing back and forth on a level plane.
    • Switches
      • Be sure to destroy any zombies which would behind a switch-activated door before moving the door in a position that would block your shots.
      • Some levels have switches you must activate multiple times in order to get barrels to roll down platforms.
    • Level ratings
      • You get better at this game as you progress through it as later levels require greater creativity and have tighter clearances.
      • If you beat a level but earned a poor rating on it keep playing through until you beat every level in the game and then come back to it.
  • Scoring
    • Level scores
      • Each zombie you destroy is worth between 1,000 and 2,000 points.
      • Each bullet you have remaining at the end of a level is worth 3,000 points.
      • Your star rating is based on your score.
    • Your game score is cumulative across levels.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like shooting games or dislike zombies.
