- Basics
- The Cat in the Hat will only start moving when you hit play on the lower right corner of the screen.
- He usually will turn back when he faces a wall.
- To get him to change direction, lay down an arrow on the ground in key intersections of the maze.
- All intersections appear as circles with a question mark.
- Pick a direction from the menu on the lower center corner of the screen.
- He is unable to move through junctures which remain empty.
- You clear the level when Cat reaches the other side of the maze.
- If Cat and his friends are unable to move, start the maze over by clicking the reset button on the lower right corner.
- Finding Nick and Sally
- These two kids are hiding somewhere in the maze. From above, you can see where they are.
- It’s sometimes possible for Cat to reach the end of the maze without reaching one or both kids.
- Plan your path to find both Nick and Sally in one pass.
- Other features
- Trampolines let you cross large swaths of the corn maze that do not have a path between them.
- Mud pits will make Cat and his friends slip through the intersection in the direction they were going.
- Hard Mode
- Hard mode only appears after you’ve played through all the easy mazes. There are about a half-dozen easy levels and a few more than that in hard mode.
- In Hard mode, Cat will encounter paths that let him travel in two different directions when he passes by them.
- Place two direction icons to guide Cat through the path. He will go in the direction of the larger icon first, followed by the smaller one.
- Cat also passes by some sign holders who switch sign direction each time they are passed.
- You are not required to place two arrows in every placement. Some hard mode mazes can still be beat with only single arrows.
- Make your own maze
- Left click or tap and drag to cut a path through the corn. To erase the path, click or tap on it again.
- Add various objects (Nick, Sally, Things 1 and 2, mud pits, and the like) in key areas.
- The game places intersections automatically.
- Test your new maze by selecting the test button
- Target Audience
- This game is suited for young children and for fans of the Dr. Seuss books.
- The game has no adult content.
