• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin a round of 10 random levels, or select the Level Select button to choose from 100 different board layouts.
  • Select Help to learn the game’s rules.
  • Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
  • Select the gear button on the bottom right corner to open the following controls:
    • Use the speaker and music buttons to turn the game’s sound on and off.
    • Use Reset to clear your game progress.

• Game Play
  • Basic rules
    • Select 2 identical Mahjong stones to remove them from the stack. The Mahjong stones in this game are based on the silhouettes of dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles.
    • You can only pair free stones.
      • Free stones have no stone above them and at least one side (top or bottom) without an adjacent stone.
      • The game helpfully highlights the free stones with a lighter background color and the closed stones have a darker grayish color.
      • Typically in Mahjong Solitaire stones must be open on the left or right, but this game mixes it up by using top and bottom to determine free stones.
    • Clear the entire stack.
  • Game modes
    • Levels
      • Clear the stack before the timer runs out.
        • You start with 2 minutes and 28 seconds on the clock on the first level. Later levels have a longer time limit and more stones.
        • You fail the level if you don’t clear all the stones in time.
          • You can try again.
          • You can also end your playthrough. This lets you save your score in the leaderboard.
      • You earn points in this mode.
      • Play through 10 levels:
        • Levels are unlocked sequentially. Finish one level to unlock the next.
        • You always begin the playthrough on the first level.
        • Earn as many points as you can within 10 levels.
      • Each time you reload the game, you have 2 options:
        • Continue from the last level you’ve unlocked.
        • Start a new playthrough. This will erase your previous progress.
    • Time trial
      • Choose a stack to clear.
      • The game has 100 different stacks to choose from.
      • Clear the stack as fast as you can.
      • Your best time is shown below the level icon on the level select screen, with a star rating shown at the top.
      • You can replay previously beat levels to try to beat your best time.
  • Scoring
    • Levels
      • Scoring is cumulative in this game mode. Your score from one level carries over to the next.
        • Every pair of tiles you clear adds 100 points to your score.
        • After finishing, you also receive 30 bonus points for every second remaining on the timer.
      • There are 2 ways to save your total score:
        • Play through all 10 levels.
        • End the playthrough after a game over.
    • Time trial
      • Your performance is represented by a star rating. The faster you finish a level, the higher your star rating.
      • Although you get to earn points in this game mode, they don’t reflect on your final rating.
      • Finishing the level brings you back to the level selection screen.
  • Assistance
    • You get an unlimited number of hints, undos, and shuffles.
      • Selecting the hint button will show you any valid pair of tiles.
      • Selecting the undo button removes the last action you did. This can help you backtrack and try a different option to open up more tiles.
      • Shuffles rearrange the stones on the stack.
        • This is useful if you want to make more obvious pairs.
        • While you can use the shuffle button to shuffle, the fame automatically shuffles the stack when you run out of valid pairs.
    • However, assistance options cost points. Use them sparingly.
      • Each undo costs 100 points (i.e. it takes back the points you earned from making your previous move)
      • Each hint costs 300 points.
      • Manual shuffles cost 500 points. Automatic shuffles are free.
