Tic Tac Toe Mania Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game

  • On the welcome screen, choose the following options:
    • Choose a grid. You can choose between a 3 x 3 or a 5 x 5 grid.
    • Choose whether you’ll be playing against the computer or a friend.

  • Below the gameplay setting buttons are the following:
    • On the left is the sound button. Use this to toggle the game’s audio.
    • On the right is the information button, where you can learn the rules of the game.

    • With your mouse, left click on any cell on the grid to mark it.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the screen with your fingers to mark the cell on the grid.
• Game Play
  • Choosing a difficulty
    • You enter the game customization screen when playing against a computer player
    • You can jump ahead by selecting the play button.
    • Below the play button are the following options:
      • The difficulty button sets the difficulty level of the game’s AI player. It has 2 settings:
        • Normal
        • Hard
      • Choose whether to play as the X and O via their respective buttons.
        • X always goes first.
  • Basic
    • Create a row of 3 or 4 before your opponent to win.
    • Stop your opponent from forming a row to end the game in a draw.
  • Strategy
    • General
      • Keep the board symmetrical.
        • Make sure you have one of your marks on either side of the board.
        • This will help increase your chances of winning.
      • Try to build on one side when the center space is taken.
        • If your opponent lays their next mark on the other side, you can use it to clinch a victory.
      • Force a draw
        • It’s the next best thing to winning.
        • It takes a lot of strategy to force a draw from your opponent, so it’s more challenging that simply winning.
      • 5×5 grid
        • When playing the 5×5 grid a player only needs to make a run of 4 in a row to win.
        • When playing try to use the squares diagonally one in from the corners as they give you many play options between vertical, horizontal, and diagonal runs of 4.
        • Be sure to look at diagonals to ensure you do not accidentally leave a 4-in-a-row opportunity open.
    • For X
      • The standard move is to go for the center. This gives you a greater chance of winning.
      • Go for the corners. This will force your opponent to play defensively.
      • Avoid laying any non-blocking moves on non-corner spaces.
    • For O
      • Play defensively until you gain an advantage:
        • Take the center if they take a corner, or take a corner if they take the center.
        • You can increase your chances to force a draw or capitalize on a blunder if you focus on blocks.
      • See if you can block your opponent’s moves each time.
