Fight villains, power up, and save the city.

  • Starting the Game
    • Click anywhere on title screen to start.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • Use the left mouse button to select options, move characters and control the turtles.
      • Click the pause button to bring up the menu.
        • The speaker button toggles the sound on and off.
        • The ? button displays the instructions.
        • The Play button returns you to the game.
        • The X button quits the game.
    • On touchscreen devices you use your finger like a mouse.
  • Game Play
    • Battles
      • You start on a roof-top. Look for roof tops marked with a glowing, yellow sign. These are battle spots.
      • When you land on a battle spot, you engage in a fight against opponents.
      • Select an enemy to target them. The enemy will be highlighted in the game and their avatar at the top of the screen will bounce.
        • Select a turtle to attack the enemy. The turtle will be highlighted.
        • The attack will commence. This uses action points. The Ninja Power Bar will also increase with each hit.
        • Repeat this for each turtle, or use your hits with the turtles that appear to be doing the most damage.
        • You power up your Ninja Power Bar based on the quality of your attack, which partly relies upon a bonus for multiple consecutive attacks. You can activate a special attack when the Ninja Power Bar is full.
          • Click on the power button on the bottom right of the screen or press the spacebar to activate it.
          • This attack tends to do more of a scattered attack across all enemies on the screen rather than focusing on a single enemy.
        • When the round is finished, each opponent will attack one or more of your turtles.
        • If you see your turtle being targeted, you can block the attack by clicking on the turtle.
          • Some enemies will show an arrow near your turtle they are going to attack before they attack.
          • The timing of that arrow warning & how long it lasts varies by enemy.
          • If all your turtles have similar health you can pre-guess clicking the front turtle and then select another to quickly click on a second if you see a different turtle highlighted.
          • If you are trying to save the health of one particular turtle then you can keep selecting to defend it.
      • Outside of boss battles where the boss may regenerate minion, it typically makes sense to take out the weakest opponents first so they get fewer attempt s to attack you in between your turns.
      • When you defeat your opponent, you may earn reward stickers for your collection and can move to the next level. The game has 4 zones with about a 14 battles each and a total of 21 stickers.
    • Battle Zone Colors
      • Yellow is the default and easiest battle zone.
        • As you beat a number of yellow zones you unlock orange zones.
        • After beating all yellow zones you unlock a pizza refill spot.
      • Orange zones are more difficult than yellow zones.
        • Orange zones are great for leveling up and maxing out your characters.
          • Your characters max out at level 10.
        • When you beat all the orange zones in an area it unlocks the boss battle.
      • Boss battles are pink and they are the most difficult.
        • While in normal battles it makes sense to take out the weakest opponents first, in boss battles it makes sense to target the head boss since they regenerate other minions.
        • I also prefer not to use the power ninja attacks in boss battles until after the main boss has been defeated.
    • City Zones
      • The city is broken down into three zones: Lower Manhattan, Midtown, and Upper Manhattan.
      • You can change city zone at anytime. From the rooftop screen, click on the map on the left to change zone. A new zone with reveal more battle spots.
      • It is generally best to play the map zones in order so you power up before you fight more powerful enemies.
      • When all three zones are beat you open a portal to a hidden city.
        • In the Hidden City all battles except the boss battle are orange battles.
        • When you beat the game it opens up more battles in all 4 zones.
    • Energy
      • You need to keep your energy levels up with pizza.
      • Look for pizza shops and pay a visit.
      • In between fights you can click on pizza slices to restore health bit by bit.
      • In midtown, uptown and the hidden city there is a pizza shop roof you can move to which fully restores your health and your pizza storage. You can visit the pizza shop in between each round to add 3 or 4 more slices to your pizza stash.
    • Boss battles
      • The final battle in each section is the Boss battle.
        • You need to successfully complete all previous battles to fight the boss battle.
        • When you win the boss battle, you complete that map.
      • Some bosses may be more vulnerable to attack by certain turtles than others.
        • You can score more damage points & fuel up your ninja power rapidly by attacking with multiple turtles in rapid succession.
        • If one of your turtles dies in battle you can revive them for your next battle by feeding them pizza.
        • If all your turtles die you can try the battle again.
        • If you get 4, 8 or 12 turns per round you can do 2 hits per turtle or decide to focus your efforts on the turtles which appear to be doing the most damage.
          • Most RPG games typically allow a single hit per team member. This game is different in two ways:
            • You can distribute the hits however you like (not only choosing which opponents to focus on but also which turtles are using what share of the total hits).
            • Even if one of your turtles dies you would still get the 8 or 12 hits per round you got previously.
      • Focus on the right enemy
        • Some bosses will repeatedly spawn minion to help them fight you.
        • You might beat a round of minion only to find they then spawn another round of minion.
        • If you seem to be unable to fight through endless waves of minion you can instead focus all your attack power on the main boss until he perishes, then circle back to fight the weaker enemies after he is no longer around to spawn them.
  • Audience
    • This game will suit all ages.
    • There are no adult themes in this game.
    • There is a lot of pizza.
