To Duel List

This game will mean two different things depending on your age and circumstances. If you’re a teen, this might be a relatable simulation of your everyday life. If you’re an adult, consider this a trip down memory lane. And for some people, this can feel very relatable. You play as a sullen adolescent male who lives with his extended family. Your father left you a long list of chores to do.

  • Accomplish a set of cumbersome chores as a sullen, angsty teenage boy.
  • Watch your player character ruin his relationship with his loved ones by saying mean things.
  • Not everything is as it seems. Learn exactly why our rude, angsty teen is the way he is.

        • Use the meter to the right to track your progress.

          • If you don’t click or press, the blue part of the meter goes down.
      • Rake the leaves.
        • Select the rake in the backyard to begin the leaf-raking minigame.
        • Grab the rake.
        • With the rake, pull the leaves toward the leaf pile on the bottom right corner of the screen.
        • Keep raking until all the leaves are done.

          • Look for the folder that contains the virus.
          • Once you find the virus, right click it, then select delete.
      • Tidy up the attic.
        • Move to the furthest part of the attic.
        • There is an item covered by a drape. Remove it to uncover it.
        • It is a telescope. Below it is a photo frame.
        • Select the photo frame. Tear drops will fall on it.
        • Interact with your mother.
    • Talking to your family
      • Interact with a family member by selecting them.
        • Your grandma is in the living room, sitting on a rocking chair.
        • Your sister is in her room, lying in her bed.
        • Your mother is in your room.
          • There are no chores in this room. You can interact with your mother, though.
      • Once they start speaking, your character will respond in turn.
        • No matter what you say, your character will only say mean things to your family members.
        • This will lower your relationship with them.
      • Your family responds differently each time you talk to them, even as your relationship goes down:
        • Your grandmother thinks you’re despondent and disrespectful.
        • Your sister (who reacts with the least negativity) will simply shrug off your character’s sullen attitude.
        • Your mother tries to do something nice, and is never hostile. Though your character is unreasonably meaner to her when she’s in his bedroom.
    • Plot (Spoilers)
      • The boy in the game is going through the motions of a list of chores his father gave him and, in an almost typical teenager fashion, he is not happy.
      • As you go through the house, you will notice that incidental details that show the player character as being much happier as a child.
      • His responses toward his family members are all hostile. Some may find him rude and unsympathetic at first, at least until after he cleans up the attic.
      • The family lost their father (relatively recently, if the list is any indication; given the references in the computer virus minigame, it could be of Covid-19). The death has hit the player character the hardest, and he isn’t coping with the loss well. Seeing the telescope finally allows him to mourn properly, and he apologizes for alienating his family.
    • Moral
      • If you’ve ever lost a loved one, give yourself ample time to grieve your loss and cycle through these emotions.
      • Give yourself some space to express your emotions in a positive way.
      • Do not push your loved ones away. If anything, you may need them (and vice versa) to cope with you mutual loss.
      • Check out this this page for more information on bereavement.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for players who like simple idle adventure games.
    • The game has no adult themed content. It does have some profanity, which makes it more appropriate for teenagers.
