Ultimate Baseball Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the baseball picture play button in the bottom center of the welcome screen to start the game.
  • The upper left corner of the welcome screen has a fullscreen mode button.
  • The upper right corner of the welcome screen has a settings button for controlling game music and sound volume.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click to swing in the right location when the ball is over the plate.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger in the correct location to swing the bat and hit the ball.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen shows your score, home runs, and remaining pitches.
    • The pitch has a red tail, then a blue tail, then a green tail when the ball is over the plate. The tail color can be observed for timing your swings.
    • At the end of the game your score is shown.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • In this game you swing high, middle, or low at the approaching pitches.
    • Perfectly timed swings in the correct zone will result in a home run.
    • Swinging in the wrong location will lead to a strike.
    • Swinging in the correct location but a bit early or late will lead to a hit or out that is not a homerun.
    • You get 10 pitches total.
      • Unlike proper home run derbies you do not earn an extra pitch by hitting a homerun.
  • Scoring
    • Each homerun you hit is worth 200 points, giving the game a maximum score of 2,000 points.
    • Each time you hit the ball where it is not a homerun is worth 100 points.
  • Tips
    • The ball’s tail color is the big tell in this game.
      • You want to swing when it is green, or when it has been blue for a while & you think it will turn green by the time your bat hits the ball.
    • Keep your default swing or cursor position in the middle so you do not have to move far in any direction to swing.
      • High pitches tend to start rather high (like way above the high swing location & up in the scoreboard area) and then arc down, giving you a great deal of time to respond to the pitch and swing.
      • Lower pitches tend to stay more flatish, or even appear as though they are near your feet and then move up slightly as the ball approaches. The timing on these has to be far tighter than high pitches.
      • Pitches in the middle may start right around the high swing location and arc down, or stay decently flat. Timing these swings is somewhere in between the timing of high and low swings.
    • You have to swing at every pitch even if it appears like a ball, as you only get 10 pitches no matter what you do.
