- Most enemies contain a number under them which tells you how many attack attempts you need to make to defeat them.
- Some enemies like the floating blades, the mechanical dogs, and the end boss of the game jump from side to side of you forcing you to hit back and forth to hit them.
- The mechanical dogs and the end boss of the game contain arrows above them showing you the sequence of which direction you need to hit. Your first hit is always in the direction they came from, but after that the sequence can very widely & you just follow the arrows above the battle to fight out the scene.
- Timing your attacks
- A blue bar at the bottom of the screen shows when you can hit approaching enemies.
- If you hit to early you will be exposed to enemy hits.
- If you wait until they get all the way to you then you’ll get hit.
- You can attack as soon as the bar turns blue.
- You can pick up throwing blades, bats, and morning stars.
- Sometimes you will automatically pick them up in battle, though sometimes you will need to try to move over toward them. In some cases where they are far away from you it may not be possible to pick them up until enemies attack from that direction.
- These temporarily expand your attack range, though be prepared for them to go away at a moment’s notice.
- With these weapons enemies that take 3 or 4 hits normally can be defeated with a single hit.
- When there are enemies attacking from both sides you may need to hit enemies from each side at least once and go back and forth attacking rather than only attacking one side and leaving your back exposed to enemies from the other side.
- Level progress
- For levels 1 through 9 the top center of the screen shows how many enemies you have left to beat in order to beat the level.
- This number is not the number of hits you need to land but rather the number of enemies you need to destroy.
- At the bottom center of the screen there are snowflakes representing how many hits you have left.
- On level 10 the number at the top of the screen is how many enemies you have already defeated.
- Dying
- If you get hit three times in a level the game is over.
- This game comes with unlimited continues. You can restart the level again if you die.
- Audience
- This game is simple enough just about anyone can play it.
- The early levels are easy enough for young children while the last few levels are challenging enough to be interesting to adults.
- After you beat all 9 levels of the game it unlocks a tenth bonus level which does not have a fixed ending but lasts until you perish.
