- If it is your first play then you have to beat the first level to unlock the next.
- The game automatically stores your level progress, ratings, and bear upgrades in your local web browser.
- Game Controls
- Mouse
- At the bottom of the screen the special attacks of your bears and the castle are available via colored buttons.
- When the buttons are fully colored you can use them and their charge status is indicated by what percent of them is colored in.
- The castle and Panda attack all three rows at the same time.
- For Grizzy and Ice Bear you have to then click on which of the 3 rows you want them to attack.
- Click on a row and hold it to have all 3 bears join in a group attack of that row.
- Touchscreen
- Use your finger like a mouse.
- Game Play
- Your castle has a bear manning each of the three rows where incoming enemies appear. Your bears automatically throw small sandballs at the enemies though you have two other options you can use to attack them.
- Click on a row and hold it to have all 3 bears power up in a group effort to throw a large sandball at incoming enemies.
- Use the special attacks of each of the 3 bears and the castle itself to defeat enemies.
- Special Attacks & Upgrades
- Each of the three bears and the castles have 3 available upgrades.
- The special attacks are as follows
- Grizzly: Throws 4 starfish in a specific row you select. When enemies run over these starfish they take a hit.
- Panda: Throws bread into all 3 rows of sand so birds attack oncoming enemies.
- Ice Bear: Does a speed attack in a row you select where he does a lot of damage to one enemy.
- Castle & Chloe Park: Initially it throws a lot of sand near the edge of the screen at waves of incoming enemies. After you get the second upgrade done it continues to do that and places a sea urchin in each row in a place where Grizzly’s starfish do not land.
- The first upgrade for each bear and the castle are speed increases. These cost 2 experience per bear and 3 for the castle.
- The second upgrade increases damage. This costs 3 experience per bear and 4 for the castle.
- On the castle upgrade it allows placing sea urchin obstacles.
- The third upgrade charges special abilities faster. This costs 4 experience per bear and 6 for the castle.
- The third upgrade on the castle provides temporary defense protection from the kraken.
- Each level you beat with a 3-star rating is worth 4 experience which can be spent upgrading the bears and castle.
- After completing all 10 levels that will be 40 upgrade points, which is the exact amount you will spend to fully upgrade all 3 bears and the castle.
- Strategy
- This game is so easy it is almost an absurdity to use the word strategy in conjunction with it, but my approach to beating it was as follows:
- Upgrade Grizzly first so you can keep laying 4 starfish on each individual row and whenever his special attack is available use it.
- In between using his special attacks use the special attack from either Panda or the castle to do a lot of damage when a new wave of enemies enters the screen.
- If most the enemies are in a single row or there is an enemy in a row where you can’t get to the enemy in time with the other attacks then use Ice Bear to do a power attack on that row.
- If you are about to use Grizzly or the castle’s special attack to lay down starfish or sea urchins and there are incoming enemies be sure they have ran over the outer edge of the starfish or sea urchins so you restore some right away and do not lay a new one over the old one before the old one was ran into.
- Audience
- This game is simple and easy. It is suitable to young children and fans of the We Bare Bears cartoon series, though the game is not particularly challenging for skilled gamers.
- If you like this game concept but would like to play something more challenging consider our Defense Battle game.
- There is no adult imagery in this game.
