- Starting the Game
- On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially.
- Your web browser automatically saves your gameplay data including beat levels and level scores.
- Select Help to learn the game’s rules.
- Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
- Select the gear button on the bottom right corner to open the following controls:
- Use the speaker and music buttons to turn the game’s sound on and off.
- Use Reset to clear your game progress.
- Use the drop-down list on the bottom left corner of the screen to choose the game’s language.

- Levels are unlocked sequentially:
- Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
- Finishing one level automatically unlocks the next one.
- Select Next Level on the win screen to return you to the level selection screen.
- There are 30 levels in this game.
- You can replay any of the levels you’ve already beat to try to earn a better score on it.
- Your new score will only replace the old score if the new score is higher.
- Basic rules
- Select 2 identical Old West-themed Mahjong stones to remove them from the stack.
- You can only pair free stones.
- Free stones have no stone above them and at least one side (left or right) without an adjacent stone.
- The game helpfully highlights the free stones with a lighter background color & other stones have a grayish background color.
- You can only select free stones, which are highlighted in red when selected.
- If the second stone you select matches the pair will be removed & if it does not the first stone will be deselected.
- Clear the entire stack before the level’s timer expires.
- You start with 2 minutes and 4 seconds on the clock on the first level.
- Later levels have a longer time limit and more stones stacked in more complex layouts.
- You fail the level if you don’t clear all the stones in time.
- You can try again. The game offers unlimited continues.
- You can also end your playthrough. This lets you save your score in the leaderboard, though ending your play also erases your gameplay data and forces you to start again from the first level if you later want to play.
- Scoring
- You have 2 scores in this game:
- Your level score represents your best score in the level.
- Your total score is the sum of all your level scores.
- Level score
- Every pair of tiles you clear adds 100 points to your level score.
- After finishing, you also receive 30 points for every second remaining on the timer.
- Total score
- You can improve your total score by playing more levels or replaying earlier levels.
- Your total score is shown in the bottom center of the level selection screen.
- There are two ways to save your total score:
- Play through all 30 levels.
- End the playthrough after a game over.
- Assistance
- You get an unlimited number of hints and shuffles.
- Selecting the hint button will show you any valid pair of tiles on the stack.
- Shuffles rearrange the stones on the stack. This is useful if you want to make more obvious pairs.
- However, hints and manual shuffles cost points. Use them sparingly.
- Each hint costs 200 points.
- Shuffles cost 300 points.
