Wild West Shootout Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the play button in the bottom center of the game to start the game.
    • Before the game begins you can choose if you want to view the game tutorial or not.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including game score, loot, enemies defeated, and purchased upgrades.
  • To the right of the start button there is a button to reveal your loot and game score.
  • In the upper right corner of the welcome screen there is a sound control button.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to scroll through the script and to time your shots.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with a finger to time your shots.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your health is shown in the bottom left.
    • Your opponent’s health is shown in the bottom right.
    • There is a sound control button in the upper right corner.
    • The 1 button in the lower right of the welcome screen shows your loot and game score.
• Game Play
  • Shot timing
    • When you shoot there are 4 possible outcomes:
      • good – shoot way early & take 1/3 of a heart container from your opponent.
      • great – shoot slightly early & take 2/3 of a heart container from your opponent.
      • perfect – shoot in the last little bit & take a whole heart container from your opponent.
      • fail – too late & no shot fired
  • Opponents
    • The game has 6 opponents which are unlocked sequentially.
    • Each enemy is more difficult than the prior enemy and has a higher bounty.
      • Bounties are $200, $300, $350, $400, $500, and $800.
  • Upgrades
    • You can upgrade guns and armor.
      • After purchasing upgrades you can switch between them.
      • You maintain the upgrades between game plays.
      • Fully upgrading your character costs $8,997.
    • There are three paid gun upgrades costing $999, $1,999, and $2,999.
      • Higher tier guns make it easier to time perfect shots.
    • Armor has 3 upgrades which cost $500, $1,000, and $1,500.
      • You start the game with 2 full heart containers.
      • Each armor upgrade class adds 2/3 of a heart, to where when you have the top tier armor activated you have 4 hearts.
  • Scoring
    • Each enemy you defeat is worth the reward amount shown on their poster.
      • You can repeatedly replay a particular enemy to earn more funds to upgrade your weapons.
    • Any battle you lose costs you $200.
      • If you and your opponent lose all your health on the same turn you lose the round.
      • If your loot would drop below $0 the game implements $0 as a hard floor.
  • Strategy
    • Upgrading vs fighting
      • You have to upgrade your revolver and armor to beat the final enemy as they have 4 full heart containers & 4 perfectly timed shots are required to beat them.
      • If you make any shots which are not timed perfectly it means you will need to take more than 4 shots to beat the final bandit.
      • You can repeatedly play the same opponent to earn loot off them over and over again. You are generally better off fighting a sure bet win repeatedly to rack up points to buy upgrades rather than fighting closer battles you may lose & lose $200 loot on.
    • Perfect vs good enough
      • When you are fighting the final enemy you usually want to try to get a perfect on every turn, unless you got less than a perfect on one turn.
      • If you have way more remaining health than your opponent it can make sense to go for great shots rather than perfect to ensure you keep grinding down their health on every turn.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like gun games.
    • The cartoon player shoots a gun at a cartoon bandit, though there is no blood.
  • Other than the above the game has no adult themed content.
