- Game Play
- Open stones
- A stone (or tile) is considered open if there is no tile directly on top of it & at least one of its left or right sides is open.
- Only open tiles can be matched.
- Tiles which are open have a brighter background color & tiles which are not open have more of a darker background color.
- When no matches remain the tiles are automatically shuffled.
- The automated shuffling does not cost you a shuffle.
- Conversely, this means that if the tiles have not shuffled you know there is at least 1 open match remaining.
- Selected tiles have a golden border around their edges.
- If you chose the wrong tile then selecting any other non-matching tile will deselect the prior tile.
- Some tiles from taller stacks can obscure part of tiles on shorter stacks. If you can’t find a match it might be because part of the tile is obfuscated.
- Generally it is best to go for the widest rows and tallest columns first to open up the playing field, but the unlimited free shuffles makes that less important in this game.
- Levels
- Each stage has a unique layout.
- Early stages are shallow with few tiles on them.
- Later stages show more tiles at a time and are deeper with some parts of the stages having many tiles stacked atop one another.
- Each level has a unique time limit, with the layouts getting more complex and the time limits longer as you progress through the game. Through the first dozen levels each level had a time limit which was 5 seconds longer than the prior level.
- The first level gives you 2:04 to beat it.
- The second level gives you 2:09 to beat it.
- The third level gives you 2:14 to beat it.
- Earning extra time
- Some tiles have a unique background pattern on them.
- When you pair those tiles with a matching tile it adds 5 seconds to your remaining level time.
- Levels are considered beat when you remove all tiles from the level.
- If all remaining tiles are in a single stack then a shuffle can not help you & thus the level is still considered beat.
- You can replay previously beat levels to try to earn a higher score on them.
- If you fail a level you can choose to end your game or replay the level.
- Scoring
- You score 100 points for each tile pair you match.
- Some tiles have radiant glowing lines on them temporarily. If you match the tiles while those lines appear you score 1,000 bonus points.
- Each time you use the hints feature it costs you 200 points.
- Each time you use the tile shuffle feature it costs you 300 points.
- Your remaining time when you complete each level is worth points. Each second is worth 30 points.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who celebrate Christmas or like Mahjong Solitaire games.
- The game has no adult themed content.
