Zombie Attack Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the orange and white PLAY button in the bottom center of the welcome screen to start the game.
  • Select which of the 3 maps you would like to play.
  • Build your defenses and start the first level.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Move left by pressing the A key or the left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing the D key or the right arrow key.
    • Move up by pressing the W key or the up arrow key.
    • Move down by pressing the S or the up arrow key.
    • Press the E key to lay dynamite.
    • Left click and scroll your mouse to control your shot aim.
    • Left click on upgrade buttons and menus to interact with them.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on screen controls.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your aim is shown on the screen by a crossmarks.
    • At the end of each game it shows what stage you were on and your score.
    • The upper left corner of the screen shows your health status and your shield status.
    • Your cash savings is shown top center.
    • Any dynamite you have in stock is shown with a count in the lower right corner of the screen.
    • Your walls have a meter above them indicating the remaining strength and initial strength.
    • Each zombie you hit has a red health bar above it indicating its health.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has a settings button. Clicking on it reveals a menu containing the following options: close menu, sound control, music control, full screen mode, and exit game.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to clear each level of zombies while avoiding their wrath.
    • In between each stage you can repair walls, unlock better guns, upgrade your health, improve your walls, and buy dynamite. .
  • Maps
    • There are 3 different maps to choose between.
      • The first map is a building with 6 potential entry points.
        • You can shoot over the entry points, but can not shoot through the walls.
        • This level gives you plenty of room to evade zombies if they break through, but the walls end up obstructing your shots frequently & force you to have to move around frequently to shoot out over the barriers the zombies try to enter.
      • The second is a small square with 4 potential entry points.
        • Each entire wall is an entry point.
        • You operate inside the square.
        • You can shoot in every direction, except you can not shoot through the weapons and upgrades vending machines.
        • Other than avoiding the vending machine with your shots you do not need to move much in this level layout.
        • When zombies break through a wall you must quickly scramble to exit.
      • The third is a small square in the middle where zombies appear, and you are inside of a building that wraps around the square the zombies come out of.
        • Each of the 4 walls is an entry point.
        • All zombies come out of a stairwell in the middle of the stage.
        • The zombies primarily attack a single wall, going after whichever wall is closest to you.
        • If one wall stats to take a bit of damage you can move around to another wall.
  • Zombies
    • Waves
      • Each level has a couple waves of zombies. The first wave can have breaks in it, but they keep coming at least periodically until you see a warning which says final wave.
      • When the final wave is announced shortly you will see a big set of zombies arrive from all directions.
      • Defeating all zombies on the final web completes a level.
    • Types
      • As you progress through the game you face stronger zombies.
      • In general whichever zombie appears most recently is strongest.
        • The default zombie is weak.
          • Defeating a default zombie earns $20.
          • Each time it hits a wall it does 5 health damage to the wall.
        • The girl zombie which appears in level 2 is faster and stronger than the default zombie.
          • Defeating a girl zombie earns $30.
          • Each time it hits a wall it does 25 damage.
          • The girl zombie is the fastest character in the game.
        • The zombie with a facemask in level 4 is stronger yet.
          • Defeating one is worth $60.
          • Each time it hits a wall it does 45 or 50 damage.
  • Stages
    • Each time you defeat all the zombies from a final wave you beat the stage.
    • In between levels you can restore your walls, purchase new guns, and buy other upgrades.
  • Upgrades
    • After each round you can purchase upgrades to your walls, health, shield, dynamite, and guns.
    • Walls
      • Each wall costs 200 to build or rebuild.
        • You do not need to rebuild a partially destroyed wall. It will automatically be restored to full health between stages.
      • Your wall health can be upgraded a total of 3 times.
        • The upgrade impacts all walls at once.
        • Upgrades cost 500, 1,000, and 2,000.
        • Your wall health goes from 150, to 225, to 375, to 525.
      • The walls are the best feature to upgrade early in the game.
        • The above wall health is the default for the second and third maps. The first map has 6 different walls, with a mix of wall health values by position. The lower right has a starting health of 100 whereas the other barriers have a starting health of 150.
    • Health
      • Your health can be upgraded 3 times.
      • It costs 200, 500, and 1,000 to upgrade your health.
      • Whenever you beat a stage your health is fully restored for the next stage.
    • Shield
      • The shield takes damage before your health is damaged.
      • It costs 100, 200, and 500 to upgrade your shield.
      • Whenever you beat a stage your shield is fully restored for the next stage.
    • Dynamite
      • You can carry up to 3 dynamite at a time.
      • Each dynamite costs $100.
      • When you lay down a stick of dynamite it does damage to zombies that run across it.
    • Guns
      • You start off with a machine gun unlocked. 225 weall, zombies worth 20 30 60

      • flame 2500
  • Tips
    • This game does not have a pause button. Be sure you are ready to play for a while when you begin.
    • Upgrade speed
      • You are only given 25 seconds to purchase upgrades in between stages.
      • You do not need to append a slightly damaged wall. It will automatically restore to full health.
      • If a wall is fully demolished it will cost 200 to replace. When you replace walls be sure you are not standing atop them or you can get stuck in them.
    • Upgrade order
      • Focus on upgrading your walls early in the game as they are a force multiplier for everything else you do. Your health won’t matter much until you progress to the point your walls are overrun.
      • The flame thrower is much more powerful than the shotgun or machine gun. Skip the shotgun upgrade and go straight the flame thrower. In our testing we found that upgrading the walls twice, then getting the flame thrower was the best way to progress through the game.
      • After getting the flame thrower upgrade the wall one last time. Then you can upgrade health, shield, and dynamite.
    • Broken walls
      • Whenever a wall gets broken through reposition to rely on another wall.
      • If the walls get broken through quickly then plan on running away quickly & anticipate other walls will quickly become broken.
    • Running from zombies
      • It helps to move away from the zombies while shooting at them to give yourself more time.
      • If one direction is full of zombies and another has only a few then shoot at the direction of few zombies so you can clear it out and run that way, then shoot at the larger set of zombies while running away.
      • It can help to run diagonally to create space. When most zombies are above or below you then you can shoot and move primarily north and south, while then adjusting your horizontal position slightly near the end of the path and run in the opposite direction.
      • When the number of zombies has mostly been depleted you can sometimes move around the building to use it as a temporary block to catch some of the zombies and give yourself more space.
      • If few zombies remain you may want to go back inside the building before shooting the last one, as you can’t cross through the barriers entry when you are in the build your defenses portion of each stage (so you will need to be inside the protective area before the level ends so that you are on the correct side of the barriers on the next stage).
