- You play as several crew members. You have a limited number of escape attempts to get to the level’s exit.
- Each level has its own limit on it, with your life count displayed in the upper left corner of the game.
- If you exhaust all your lives, you fail the level.
- This game offers an unlimited number of continues.
- As a gruesome reminder of your previous failures, the corpses of your crewmates will be visible exactly where they died, though these can be used as temporary platforms which may help you reach further jumps and avoid dying once again on the same obstacle.
- Death
- Almost everything in this game is trying to kill you.
- There are 2 general types of hazards: mobile and stationary.
- Stationary hazard include spikes.
- These stay in place.
- You must move past them, often by jumping over them, without making contact.
- Mobile hazards move.
- Often, these are triggered if you approach them.
- Some are one-time things, like the sinister spiked boxes. Once they fall, they stop being a threat.
- Others, like spinning blades, are a constant hazard. You can’t turn them off.
- Expect to repeat each level just to get an idea where the death traps are.
- Each time you die you start back at the beginning of the level, even if your body from the prior life can be used as a temporary platform multiple screens into the level.
- Tricky tricky!
- As you advance through the game levels have additional trap types.
- For example, level 5 introduces a spiked ball which periodically comes out of the floor and a persistent bullet shooter which can shoot through platforms.
- Tips
- To avoid unnecessary deaths, move slowly, especially once you’ve mapped the level.
- Exercise caution when moving into a new frame of the level, being ready to backtrack.
- Trial and error is your main way of getting around. Be prepared to fail the level several times just to map it out.
- Target Audience
- The game is suited for players who like difficult retro level escape games.
- When players die the edge of the screen shows splats of blood & some blood droplets appear near the player, though both are pixelated.
- This game is exceptionally difficult & cheap in the myriad ways you can die. Younger children who are inexperienced at gaming may be frustrated by the difficulty level, but older kids & adults who game regularly should enjoy this game if they like difficult games.
- Other than the pixelated blood, the game has no adult themed content.
