Domino Legend Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Choose a language:

  • To start playing, select either Block or Draw. These select the version of dominoes you play.
  • To learn the rules of either game, select Instructions.
  • Select the background button to change the aesthetics of your playing area.
  • The sound effects and music buttons allow you to toggle the game’s audio.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your progress and points.
    • If you exit the game, your browser saves your previous session.
    • You can replay your previous session or start anew.

    • Left side
      • On the top left is the number of points you’ve accrued over the course of the game.
      • The gear-shaped pause button is on the bottom left.
    • Right side
      • Your opponent’s score is visible on the top right.

  • Common rules
    • Who’s on first?
      • Players receive a starting hand of 7 tiles.
      • Doublets (or doubles tiles with two identical values on either end) determine the starting player
      • The player with the highest doublet will go first.
      • If neither player has a doublet, the one with the highest-valued tile goes first.
    • Placement
      • You don’t need to worry about placement. The game automatically positions the dominoes for you.
        • Doubles are always placed vertically whenever possible.
        • You cannot lay anything on top or below the double and must lay the matching tile at the center line.

      • The game board expands as you lay in the dominoes.
    • Discarding and placing the dominoes
      • Only the starting domino can be placed anywhere.
      • You can only lay down domino tiles if the number value of one of their sides match with one already on the field.
      • The game will helpfully highlight only the dominoes you can use.
      • When you cannot use any of the dominoes on hand, you are blocked. How you will proceed will depend on the type of game you play.
      • Keep discarding the dominoes until you have no more on hand or have no valid moves.
    • Winning
      • Be the first to discard all your tiles to win.
      • If you nor your opponent cannot make any moves, the game ends.
        • The winner is determined by the value of the tiles they’ve got left.
        • Generally, though not always, this is the player with the fewest tiles remaining.
  • Rounds and scoring
    • Each game session comprises several rounds.
    • To complete a session, one player must reach 100 points.
      • Your points are based on the value of your opponent’s remaining tiles.
      • You gain 1,000 points if you manage to beat your opponent through the entire session with a win streak of 100:0.
    • Use the points you’ve accrued to unlock customization options for your playing screen.
  • Game modes
    • Block
      • This is the standard version of dominoes.
      • If you ever get blocked, your opponent gets another turn.
    • Draw
      • Draw games are more risky for either player.
      • When you get blocked, you must take a tile from the graveyard.
        • All tiles are face down. You don’t know what you’re getting.
        • Keep drawing tiles until you get one you can play.
        • Sometimes, you can get really unlucky and amass a lot of tiles fast.
      • If the graveyard runs out of tiles, only then do you lose a turn.
  • Tips and tricks
    • Play your strong suit
      • Your strong suit represents the numbers you most have on hand.
      • The tiles whose values you have more of are often those that the opponent has less of.
      • By deploying these tiles often, you box your opponent into a corner. In draw games, they may be forced to draw a lot of cards at once.
    • Don’t let your opponent mobilize their strong suit.
      • Cutting off your opponent from the majority of their tiles increase the likelihood that they might pass or draw.
    • Dispose of higher-value tiles quickly.
      • High-value tiles are a long-term liability, especially toward the end game.
      • This way, you’ll increase your chances of winning once both of you run out of moves.
    • Square off the playing field.
      • A squared playing field refers to one where both ends of the field have identical numbers.
      • This can confound your opponent’s strategies as they are more limited to the tiles that they can match.
      • In draw games, this can coax them to getmore tiles to keep playing.
