Domino Battle

This is a version of the classic tile game featuring two modes of play. The objective of both versions is the same. Remove all of your tiles before your opponent. If neither you nor your opponent can have a valid move, win by having tiles of the lowest value at the end.

In block mode, simply play until you or your opponent have no more dominoes to discard. If you don’t have a tile to match, you pass and give your opponent another turn. Meanwhile, draw mode has you pick up new tiles from the graveyard when you don’t have a tile that matches.
  • Challenge the computer player until one of you reaches 100 points or more.
  • Win 1,000 points for winning all the rounds against your opponent.
  • Use the points you earned to customize your playing field.

    • Basics
      • Essential rules
        • You and your opponent start with 7 tiles.
        • Discard all the domino tiles you have on hand before your opponent does.
          • To discard the tile, you must place it adjacent to the side of another tile that shares its value.
          • Keep playing until one of you has discarded all your tiles.
          • The game can also end in a block.
            • A block takes place when you or your opponent has no valid moves.
            • Depending on the game mode, there are ways to lift the block.
            • If both you and your opponents are blocked, the game ends.
        • The winner is determined by the following:
          • The first player who uses all their tiles is automatically the winner.
          • In a block, the winner is instead determined by the number and value of the tiles they have on hand.
          • Often, but not always, this is whoever has the least number of dominos on hand at the end of the game.
      • Taking turns
        • The first turn is determined by the doublet. This is a domino tile with two identical values.
        • The player who has the double with the highest value goes first.
        • If neither player has a double, the player who has the tile with the highest value goes first.
      • Tile placement
        • Placement is done automatically. The tiles go where they’re supposed to go when played.
        • Doublets are almost always placed vertically.
        • Tiles cannot be placed above or below doublets. They must instead be perpendicular to the doublet.
      • Discarding dominos.
        • To discard a domino, it must have a number that matches any of the available domino pieces on the field.
          • Place it adjacent to any tile that shares its value.
          • Only the first tile laid is exempt from this.
          • The game automatically highlights which dominos on your deck you can play.
        • If you don’t have a domino you can discard, you must either pass or draw, depending on your game mode.
    • Interface
      • The enlarge button is located on the top left corner.
      • On the top right corner are these two buttons:
        • The instruction button lets you see the rules of the current mode you’re playing.
        • The pause button stops the game momentarily.
    • Rounds
      • In this game, you and the computer opponent play in sessions divided by rounds.
        • Win a round to gain points. Keep playing until one player reaches 100 points.
        • Your points are based on the value of your opponent’s remaining tiles.
        • Whoever reaches 100 points first wins the entire session.
      • View your score at the top center of the screen. Your score is on the left.
      • You can exit the game and resume your previous session at any time.
        • When loading a game again, you have the option of starting a new session or continuing where you left off.
      • If you win all the rounds in a session without ever losing (a ratio of 100:0), you receive 1,000 points.
      • Use your points to unlock customization options.
    • Game modes
      • The two game modes differ mainly in the
        • Block
          • This is the most basic version of the game. Players are blocked if they have no valid moves.
          • If you are unable to find a tile to discard, you pass. Your opponent gains another turn.
          • Your block is lifted if you receive an opportunity to discard a tile.
          • If you or your opponent cannot continue, the game ends.
        • Draw
          • If you cannot discard a tile, you must pick up a tile at random from the graveyard. All the dominos in the graveyard are face down.
          • Keep drawing tiles until you find one that you can play.
          • You and your opponent can quickly rack up tiles if you don’t find anything you can use.
    • Strategy
      • If you have the first turn, see if you can discard your highest-value tiles immediately.
        • This way, you are more likely to have a lower score if both of you are blocked.
      • Play to your suit. This refers to the tile value that you have a lot of.
        • If you have a lot of a specific value on your deck, it usually means your opponent has less of it.
        • Deploy these tiles as often as you can.
        • e.g. if you have a lot of 5s, deploy them often.
      • Block any attempts by your opponent to play their strong suit.
        • If your opponent has a lot of 5s, try to avoid ending a link with a 5.
      • Square the playing area.
        • A squared playing area has, on both ends, tiles with identical numbers.
        • If your move squares the playing field, it severely restricts your opponent’s choice of tiles.
        • They may be forced to pass in a block game and take from the graveyard in a draw game.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for people of all ages who like playing domino games.
    • The game has no adult themed content.
