Snowy Peaks Solitaire

This is a quite challenging timed version of Tripeaks Solitaire which uses more than one card deck. Players are given 6 minutes to clear the tableau on each of the 5 stages.

  • Remove cards from the tableau which are one higher or lower than the card atop the waste pile.
  • The bottom of the levels start off like a normal Tripeaks Solitaire game design with all cards dealt face up, but the game then cycles with an inverted Tripeaks with the cards face down.
  • Later stages get more difficult because the level grows taller with more cards to remove.

  • Starting the Game
    • Select the Play button in the center of the welcome screen to start the game.
    • Under the Play button are buttons for how to play Help, High Scores, and More Games.
    • The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
    • The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for social media sharing and reading game developer information.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • Use your mouse left click to select a card to play from the tableau or to deal another card from the reserves.
    • Touchscreen devices
      • Tap the screen with a finger to select which card you would like to play.
    • Controls & indicators
      • Your Joker is left of the stock pile & the stock pile has a numerical indicator under it informing you how many cards you have remaining in the stock.
      • Game controls are in the right rail.
        • At the top it shows current level number, cumulative game score, and remaining level play time.
        • At the bottom there are 5 control buttons: pause, undo moves, control game sound, control game music, and switch to full screen mode.
  • Game Play
    • Deal
      • This is a multiple-deck version of Tripeaks Solitaire which alternates between a normal face up Tripeaks layout and an upside down Tripeaks.
      • The right side up Tripeaks are dealt face up, whereas the upside down ones are dealt face down.
    • Playing
      • Select cards from the tableau that are one higher or lower than the card atop the waste pile.
      • If you can not make any more moves you can deal another card from the stock pile (or reserves), or lay a Joker on the waste pile and then keep playing cards from the tableau.
      • While the reserves has a counter on it, when you use all the cards in the reserves you are dealt more cards again.
    • Strategy
      • Try to save your Joker for late in the game.
      • Play to try to keep streaks alive to maximize your score and make each card you deal from the reserves count.
      • Work on all parts of the Tripeaks at the same time rather than leaving one part hanging down while other portions of the board are off screen high.
      • Don’t be afraid to use the undo button if you have multiple parallel plays and want to see which cards are turned up when you make them.
    • Levels
      • This game has 5 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
      • Levels give you 6 minutes each to complete them.
        • While the level timers remain the same later levels are significantly harder because they are taller, there are more narrow passage bottlenecks in the level design, & most of the additional cards are dealt face down.
        • If you run out of cards or time you lose the level, but this game offers unlimited continues.
      • Reserves
        • The first level gives you 25 cards in reserves & the ability to get a second fill of another 25 cards.
        • The second stage gives you 24 to start with & then each subsequent level gives you one fewer card per shuffles.
        • You get more shuffles as you progress through the game to offset the increased size of the tableau.
    • Scoring
      • Your game score is cumulative across levels.
      • Each card you remove from the tableau is worth points.
        • Cards which are higher up on the tableau are worth more points.
        • Your card value increases via a chain bonus if you make many consecutive moves from the tableau without drawing another card from the reserves or using a Joker.
          • For example, the first card on a bottom row may be worth 200, and if you make consecutive moves as part of a chain the second and third cards may be worth 300 and 400 points.
          • The key to earning a high score in this game is to make the most of the chain bonus as the level time portion of the scoring is rather menial.
      • Your remaining time at the end of each level is worth points, with each second being valued at 2 points.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for players who like Tripeaks Solitaire card games.
    • The game has no adult themed content.
