Troll Thief Game for Teens Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Start to begin.

  • Goals
    • Pick up the item the troll wants somewhere in the image by extending his arm.
    • Avoid getting the troll hurt by various hazards. You will fail, comically.
  • Basic rules
    • Reaching for the stuff
      • The trolls arm can only go in straight lines, though the lines can move at any angle.
        • To bend, the troll must latch onto a vertical or horizontal object.
        • Once you’ve grabbed the object, the troll will retract their hand and use it, winning the game.
      • If your arm gets stuck you can pull it back in the direction it came from and then run it again.
        • If the clearance is tight sometimes it helps to go slightly out of bounds.
        • Your arm can move off screen in any direction and then make its way back onscreen.
      • If you’re ever stumped, you can select the hint button.
        • This will show you a dashed line path you can follow to solve the puzzle.
    • Avoiding hazards
      • Hazards come in many forms.
        • Many hazards are characters who retaliate if the troll touches them.
        • Some hazards are environmental objects like sockets.
        • Some hazards, such as cars and blades, move.
        • Use common sense to find out if an item is a hazard.
      • You must not touch a hazard or you fail the level.
        • You can also try to fail the level on purpose to see the fail screens.
    • Fails
      • Fails are part of the game’s appeal.
        • The troll attempting and failing to do a prank often leads to a hilarious image.
        • You can move forward despite a fail.
      • You can try the level again or move to the next level if you’d like.
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially. You start with only one level playable at the start of the game.
    • Finish one level to unlock the next.
      • To unlock the level, select the next button on the game over screen.
      • You don’t need to win the level to unlock the next one.
    • You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
