Christmas Triple Mahjong Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
  • Select Help to learn the rules of the game.
  • Select High Scores to view the leaderboard.
  • Choose a language from the drop-down list on the bottom left corner.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your mouse, left click to select any of the cubes.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the cubes with your fingers to select them.
  • Controls and indicators
  • The game’s controls and indicators are located on the right side of the screen. From the top, they are as follows:
    • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes
    • Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
    • Speaker button: Turns the game’s background sounds on and off

    • Cumulative game score
    • Level timer
    • Pause button
    • Hint button
    • Shuffle button
• Game Play
  • Levels
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
      • You always start off with the first level playable.
      • Finish one level to unlock the next.
      • Each level has a different stack arrangement and time limit.
        • The first level gives you 2:05 to clear the board of 33 tiles (or 11 sets of 3).
        • You get an additional 5 seconds added to the time limit on each subsequent level.
    • Each time you reload the game, you have 2 options:
      • Start the game from the beginning. This will clear your previous score.
      • Pick up from the last level you unlocked.
    • Losing a level
      • If you do not clear a level of tiles before the timer runs out the game shows an “end game” button. If you click that button your game is over.
      • If you want to replay the current level you should avoid pressing that button & instead refresh your web browser, then on the game’s welcome screen select play, then select continue previous game.
  • Basic rules
    • Remove tiles from the stack by matching groups of 3 identical tiles.
      • Only free tiles can be removed.
        • These are tiles that have no tile on top of them and at least one clear side (left or right).
        • The game helpfully highlights all the free tiles on the stack.
        • Tiles which are not open have a grayed out background.
      • Identical tiles
        • In most cases tile matches must be identical to count. A tile with 4 gingerbread men on it can only be matched to another tile with 4 gingerbread men on it.
        • The exceptions to this rule are flower and season tiles. Any flower tile can be matched with any other flowers & any season tile can be matched with any other seasons.
    • Clear the entire stack of tiles before the level’s timer runs out.
      • The level is considered beat when all tiles are removed from it, or when the remaining tiles can not create a valid open match of 3 by shuffling the board.
      • The first level has a time limit of 2 minutes 5 seconds.
        • Each subsequent level gives you more time to clear the stack, to where you must beat the final level in 3:15.
        • The levels increase in complexity and the number of tiles on each far faster than the time limit increases.
      • Fail to clear the stack on time and it’s game over.
        • You can choose to start the level all over again by refreshing the web browser (do not click the end game button!). When you replay a level you will typically get a different board layout on the replay.
        • You can also quit and save your final score on the leaderboard.
  • Scoring
    • Your score is cumulative across all levels.
      • Earn 100 points for every 3 tiles you remove.
      • You also receive a bonus 30 points for every second remaining on the level timer.
    • To save your final score on the leaderboard, do any of the following actions:
      • Finish all 10 levels.
      • Quit the game after a game over.
  • Assistance
    • Hints
      • Select the hint button to get a hint. The game will highlight a trio of tiles in with a red outline.
      • Hints cost 200 points.
    • Shuffles
      • Shuffles rearrange the entire stack. This way, you’ll see more potential tiles to clear.
      • The game automatically reshuffles the stack if you run out of possible trios of tiles to remove.
      • Manual shuffles cost 300 points.
