- The robot changes direction each time it hits a vertical surface.
- To switch between surfaces, left click or tap anywhere on the screen.
- If you hit a hazard, you die and start from the beginning of the current level.
- Hazards
- Spikes
- Spikes are stationary hazards. They remain in place all throughout the game.
- They can be avoided by a consistent switch at the right time.
- Avoiding the spikes is quite tricky if they stand in the way of a jump.
- Bullets
- Bullets are animated and timed.
- These are fired from turrets. The turret itself won’t harm your character when it walks on it.
- It takes much longer to synchronize movements with bullets.
- You must switch planes not only at the right place but also the right time.
- Pay attention to when your character moves and when the turret fires.
- The best times to jump is when the bullet has already been fired and isn’t going to hit the robot as it goes up.
- Some levels involve rather literal cases of trying to outrun a bullet.
- Worms
- Worms are also a mobile hazard. They walk in a straight line, back and forth.
- They are slower than your player character.
- The best way to avoid them is to go in front of them or trail behind them.
- Time your movement so the worms never reach you.
- Spiked Cannisters
- These are similar to fixed spikes, except they periodically move up or down and stay in place for a while before repeating their movement cycle.
- Tips
- Trial and error is a key component of this game.
- Be patient, especially in the later levels, until you learn the right timing.
- Pay close attention to your windows of opportunity. in many situations, you’ve got to switch planes fast.
- Left click or tap fast to accomplish tricky maneuvers.
- Avoid clicking too much. One wrong move can send your robot to a spike or a bullet.
- Break levels into discrete chunks.
- If you switch polarity right as you bump into a wall you may end up moving in the wrong direction and dying.
- Certain portions of the level require you to make many complex maneuvers in a row.
- In some places you can let your character walk back and forth without encountering risk. It can be helpful to break larger & more complex levels into discrete chunks and wait at the safe spots so you are focused on each section in isolation.
- Target Audience
- People who like retro platformers should like this game.
