Run Run Duck Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Press the play button in the lower center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels and your high score on each level.
  • The welcome screen has a settings button right of the play button and a fullscreen mode button in the upper left corner.

    • Move left by pressing either the left arrow key or the A key.
    • Move right by pressing either the right arrow key or the D key.
    • Jump by pressing either the up arrow key or the W key.
    • Stomp down (while the green monster) by pressing the down arrow key.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The move left and right buttons are in the lower left of the screen.
      • The jump and stomp buttons are in the lower right.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner shows how many lives you have remaining.
    • The top center shows how many coins you have collected in the current stage.
    • The upper right corner has a level timer and a settings button for controlling game sound and music.

    • In this game your goal is to make it to the golden egg at the end of each level before the timer runs out.
    • This game features many of the mainstays of platformer games: walking enemies, fireballs, floating clouds, collectibles, and power ups.
  • Power Ups
    • There are 2 power ups in this game: a feather & a green vile.
      • The feather turns you into a superhero who destroys any enemy it runs into.
      • The green test tube turns you into a monster which can stomp hard.
  • Levels
    • This game has 8 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Comparing levels
      • Each level has a unique layout design, but all levels have the same 2-minute time limit.
    • Dying vs winning
      • You die if you run out of time, fall off platform, or get hit 3 times by fireballs or other enemies.
      • This game offers unlimited continues. When you die you restart the current level at the beginning.
      • If you make it to the golden egg before the timer runs out you beat the level & start the next stage with full health.
  • Scoring
    • Each coin you collect is worth 100 points.
    • Each second you have remaining when you beat a level is worth 10 points.
    • Each enemy you defeat is worth points, with the amount varying by enemy. The average enemy is worth around 800 points.
