Careful kids, don’t catch the cooties. This is a 12-level (anti)romance game where you try to help a member of the Teen Titans Go team stay *out* of love.
The game is charming and beautiful. Other than the frustrating controls on desktops, I would give the site a 4.5 to 5 score on just about everything, though I gave the game a lower overall score due to the frustration of inconsistent movement controls where sometimes you click and drag and the game does not respond. The difficulty is also rated higher than it otherwise would be due to the frustrating movement controls. Given that the game is a one-hit death, movement controls which randomly don’t work can be more than a bit frustrating.
Move back and forth to avoid getting hit by the hearts.
Shoot the hearts to break them in half until they are so small they disappear when shot.
Avoid other obstacles like rainbows shot by rotating ceiling fans and white cubes that fall after they are hit by hearts.
Hit question blocks to release power ups. Run over the power ups to activate them.

Teen Titans Go Titanic Heartbreak Game Play Instructions
How to Play
Stay out of a romantic relationship by shooting hearts and avoiding them when they are near you.
Starting the Game
Press the play button on the game’s welcome screen.
The welcome screen also contains a how to play button.
This will bring up the level and character select screen.
Click on the arrows at the top of the screen to choose your character. Your options are Beast Boy, Cyborg and Raven. Each character has its own attack type.
Beast Boy: shoots a single small shot upward, but can rapidly fire again and again.
Cyborg: shoots 3 fatter angled shots upward, though is slower at shooting than Beast Boy.
Raven: shoots a vertical line which stays in place (a bit like our Break Bubble game, which was inspired by the Super Nintendo hit Super Buster Brothers).
You may find you are better at playing with one of the three characters or that one of them does much better on a specific level.
The 12-level map appears below the character select.
Each level must be beaten to unlock subsequent levels.
You can beat each level with different characters or beat a level with all characters if you like.
Your highest rated star ranking for each level with any character and which characters you have beat that level with are shown on the level select screen.
Game Controls
Mouse & Keyboard
Moving: Click your mouse and drag it to move left or right. This soft of control feels a bit clunky & would have been better if the arrow keys worked. It almost feels as if this game was designed primarily for touch screen devices rather than desktop computers.
Shooting upward: click the G button.
Restarting level: click the R button.
Touchscreen device
Tap the screen and drag your finger left or right to move.
The shooting button is in the lower right corner.
Game Play Strategy
The top of the level interface shows what level you are on and what your star rating would be if you beat the level right now. It also contains a button go back to the level and character select screen.
The key to doing well on this game (at least on desktop) is to minimize how much you need to move.
Set your position to break ice or open gateways allowing an enemy or group of enemies to fall.
If you are slightly off in hitting a target and it is to the right you might need to first move a bit left before moving right as the movement controls (at least on desktop) are not that granular.
Ideally only fight one enemy at a time and complete it before fighting the next heart.
If you have many broken small hearts on the screen at the same time the odds of one of them hitting you dramatically increase.
Keep shooting vertically to shoot the hearts.
If you are using Raven ensure the black blob which shoots the beams is between you and the enemy hearts. Be sure this blob is on the side of the enemy so that the wall is created between you and the enemy.
If you are using Cyborg you can use the angled shot and then run if you miss. The angled shot also allows you to run toward a heart that is moving away from you and hit it with the angled fire.
If you are using Beast Boy it is best to shoot from an area with a good amount of clear space above you so you can time the heart’s movement and ensure you are under it near its apex so that if you miss it the heart bounces over you.
If you need to, run left or right to avoid getting hit, but the movement controls on desktop are quite hard to use.
Defense
This game is a one-hit loss, so defense is important.
There are many ways to die: have a white block fall on you, have a moving fan shoot a rainbow at you, or have a heart run into you.
Hit detection can be slightly off, which adds to the frustrations from the movement controls of clicking your mouse and dragging it to move the character, as sometimes when you click and move the mouse to move and have your character do nothing, leading to a certain death.
As a bonus to the dumpster fire controls of clicking and dragging the mouse to control the movement, if your character moves at all you may need to move your mouse twice as far as the character actually moves. Which means you are stuck constantly re-centering the mouse, as if it is off the the edge of the screen your character won’t move the next time you try to move.
If the game has a variety of small hearts and one or two big hearts that are stuck above you due to their size then you are best off taking out the small hearts first and then working on each part of the heart in isolation one at a time to minimize how many active bouncing hearts there are in the bottom of the screen.
Power Ups
The yellow blocks with a question mark in them contain power ups. When these power ups fall you have to run into them quickly before they disappear.
Snowflake – freezes enemies in place. Try to run this over when there are hearts nearly above you so you can repeatedly hit them.
Broken heart – breaks bigger hearts in half while. If the game has 1 or 2 big hearts on it you are best off shooting them and breaking them up before running over this so that this does a unit of damage to each of many smaller hearts rather than a single hit to one big heart.
Star – adds more time to your level star rating bar.
Bubble – provides a protective bubble around you which absorbs the first hit (a bit like a mushroom in Super Mario Bros.)
Scoring
You score points based on how much time you have remaining at the end of the level.
Core is cumulative across levels, though resets to zero after each time you die.
If the timer runs out that only impacts the star ratings and you can keep on playing the level to completion even though the timer is at zero.
You are given a zero to three star rating on each level depending on how quickly you beat it.
You can unlock other levels by beating a level even with a zero star rating.
You can also go back and beat previously beaten levels to try to score a higher star rating.
Dying
If you get hit by a rainbow, a falling white block, or any heart it is game over.
Winning
When you beat the game kisses Starfire, much to the dismay of Robin. Beast Boy, Cyborg and Raven are overcome with joy.
If there was a song which were the opposite of this game it would be Toni Braxton’s Un-Break My Heart.
