War of Tanks Paper Note Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select 1P for a 1-player game or 2P for a 2-player game.
    • If you select a single player game you immediately start playing the game.
    • If you select a two player game you can choose how many defeats ends the game. You can select anywhere between 1 and 20.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • 1 player
      • Move with the arrow keys & use the spacebar to shoot.
      • You can select the tank color on the start screen.
      • Press the R key at any time to restart.
    • 2 player
      • Player 1 moves the purple tank with WASD keys and shoots with the spacebar.
      • Player 2 moves the green tank using the arrow keys and shoots with the M button.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • This game is designed primarily for desktop play.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Your health is shown in a status bar at the top of the screen.
    • If you play in 2 player mode your opponent’s health is shown opposite yours, the defeat count is at the bottom of the screen parallel with the health bar, the active upgrades are shown on the edges of the screen, and the buttons bottom center allow you to control game sound, restart, or return home.

  • General
    • Goal
      • The goal of this game in one player mode is to clear each level of enemies.
      • The goal of this game in two player mode is to destroy your opponent’s tank more times than they destroy your tank.
    • Movement & shooting
      • You can move in any of the 4 core directions, or the 4 diagonal directions by holding 2 directions at once.
      • You shoot in the direction you last moved and are facing.
      • The large green tanks require a rocket to destroy.
    • Health
      • The health bars indicate how much health you (and perhaps a friend or enemy) have remaining.
      • In the game the bases have a health bar above them.
      • You can get hurt by enemy fire, dynamite explosion, exploding mines, or your own shots ricocheting.
      • If you blow up an enemy tank and are touching them when you shoot them then you also lose all of your health, so you need some distance to shoot tanks from.
  • Single player mode
    • There are 20 maps with around a half-dozen different sections on each.
      • If you only have one map available to you in single-player mode you may want to select two-player mode, set the count to 20, start the game, go back to the game’s welcome page, and select a single-player game.
    • In this game you can probe and retreat repeatedly to minimize your damage taken while aligning your aim and fighting enemies in smaller groups.
    • You can run over infantrymen with your tank.
    • Bases can be used to block line of sight enemy fire.
    • Power ups are scattered across the level.
      • Most are sitting out in the open & all you need to do is run them over to equip them.
      • Some are hidden inside crates.
      • Grab the power up green rocket before fighting the large green tanks & avoid being seen by the security drones,
  • Two player mode
    • There are 20 different maps to play across. The 2-player game maps are smaller and simpler than the single-player maps.
    • The goal is to destroy your opponent more times than they destroy you.
    • Whenever you defeat your opponent you both start again with full health and move to another map.
  • Upgrades
    • Pink shield – armor, which acts as a temporary defense forcefield
    • Purple – bigger bullets
    • Live green with many dots – triple shot
    • Fuchsia with lines – laser inactivation
    • Blue wrench – repair tank, which adds to your health
    • Green rocket – allows you to destroy powerful tanks or do a lot of damage to other structures in a single shot
