  • Levels
    • There are 15 levels in this game.
    • These levels are unlocked in sequence. Finish the first level to play the second, and so on.
    • After you finish one level, you immediately move onto the next one.
    • Each level has a unique board design.
    • If you lose a level it is game over, however if you refresh your browser window instead of clicking on the game over button you can then continue your prior game starting on the level you just played.
    • As this game requires adding to 10 instead of visually matching exact matches it is a bit harder than other mahjong solitaire games.
  • Basic rules
    • Open tiles
      • Only open tiles may be matched.
      • A tile is considered open if nothing is on top of it and at least one of the left or right side of it does no have anything on the same plane.
      • Open tiles are brighter in color while tiles that have a darker background are not open.
    • Clear the stack by matching pairs of tiles of the same type.
      • Each matching pair must belong to the same kind (dots, numbers or bamboo shoots).
      • The pair’s values, when added, must equal 10 (match 1 with 9, 2 with 8, 3 with 7, 4 with 6, & 5 with 5).
    • Finish pairing off the tiles in 9 minutes to clear the first level.
      • Each subsequent level has a 5 second shorter time limit, meaning you must beat the fifteenth level in 7:50.
  • Scoring
    • You receive 95 points for every match you make.
    • You also receive a bonus at the end of the level, depending on how fast you clear all the tiles. Each second you have remaining when you beat a level is worth 30 points.
    • Using the hint button costs 100 points.
    • Using the shuffle tiles button costs 500 points. When no open tile matches remain the board is automatically shuffled without costing you points.
    • Your score is cumulative across levels.
  • Hints and reshuffles
    • Hints and reshuffles can help you out of a tight or unwinnable spot, but at the cost of your points.
      • Hints will show you an available pair to match.
      • Reshuffles will change the arrangement of the tiles in the pile.
      • Because they reduce your score each time they’re used, use them sparingly.
        • When no open tile matches remain the board is automatically shuffled without costing you points.
