A Frog And The Flies Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Left click or tap anywhere on the welcome screen to open the tutorial screen.
  • Read the tutorial screen, then select the play button on the bottom center.

    • With your mouse, left click on any blank lily pad to move your flies there.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on any available lily pad with your fingers to move your flies there.
• Game Play
  • Goals
    • You begin the game with a numerical advantage: 6 flies versus 1 frog.
    • Using the flies, trap the frog in a corner where it is unable to move.
    • You will lose if the frog consumes all of your flies or you are unable to trap the frog.
      • You need a minimum of 4 flies to trap the frog.
    • Trap the frog to win and move up a level.
  • Basic rules and features
    • Moves
      • The frog and the flies can move to any empty lily pad onscreen.
      • In most circumstances, both the frog and the flies can only move one space per turn.
      • The frog can jump over a single fly.
        • If they jump over a fly, they will consume it.
        • They will appear on the lily pad next to the fly. This is the only time any unit in the came can move two spaces in a single turn
      • The frog cannot jump over two or more flies.
    • Other featues
      • You can view the level number and turn on the top right corner of the screen.
      • On occasion, a lily pad with a power symbol will float down from the left side of the screen. Select this to restart the game/.
  • Strategy
    • Always keep at least 2 flies side by side to defend each other from the frogs. If the path is complex try to use the flies in sets of 3 using an inverted V formation like ^.
    • Move flies only when the frog is away from them, or when you need to move them away from a spot where the frog can take them, or where you are putting a support behind a fly the frog could take.
    • Try to think one step ahead with where the frog will go to next & where you need to trap it.
    • If there is not a straight line passing through a dot and the line instead turns that makes the dot a strong position to place one of your flies.
