Jumper Frog Game Play Instructions

• Playing the Game
  • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the frog toward the opposite side of the stream without dying. You die if:
    • You get ran over by a car.
    • You fall into the water.
    • A log or turtle carries you out of the edge of the screen in the stream.
    • You mistime the jump out of the stream and do not land in a clear spot in a cove.
    • You run out of time.
  • While each frog is timed, there is generally sufficient time to beat the levels without time becoming an issue. Time resets after each frog is placed in a cove.
• Strategy
  • It can be helpful to break the game into two parts so you have a mental pause and can time your moves in the middle. First cross the street, then plan your approach on the stream.
  • You need to get 5 frogs across the stream to complete each level. The spot in the upper left corner is the hardest spot to fill so try to get it and the spots on the left side first as you can always fill the easier to fill right side later. The timer resets each time you get a frog into a cove.
  • Do not be afraid to use the down button to back off of a move spot which seems likely to lead you out of the screen or to die.
  • If possible it is best to avoid the turtles that float then sink so you do not have to time their paths crossing with a log along with timing them not going underwater.
• Scoring
  • Each game starts with 5 lives. If you die 5 times then you start again on the first level.
  • Your score is cumulative across rounds as long as you are still using the same set of 5 frogs.
  • Your local web browser contains your high score.
  • Each frog you land in a cove is worth 100 points.
  • Flies are worth 400 points if you manage to land on a spot with a fly.
  • Levels get progressively harder over time, so it can make sense to try to get at least a couple flies on each of the early levels to boost your score.
