Jewel Legend Match 3 Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Select the start button at the center of the welcome screen to begin.
  • Below the play button to the left is a roulette button. Use this to win power ups.
  • Next to the play button to the right is the information button. Use this to learn about the game.
  • Toggle the game’s audio by selecting the sound button on the top left corner.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high scores for each level.

    • With your mouse:
      • Left click to select the jewel you want to clear.
      • Drag the jewel to a valid spot.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers:
      • Tap on any jewel you want to clear.
      • Swipe it toward a valid spot.
• Game Play
  • Level selection
    • Levels are unlocked in sequence. You start off with only the first level playable.
    • You can replay each of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
  • Interface
    • The sound button is on the top left corner.
    • Top row:
      • Your level goals are shown on the left.
      • At the center is the move counter or timer.
      • At the right is the scoreboard.
      • Below these counters is a meter that measures how close your score is to a star rating.
      • Below the meter are the power ups.
    • On the bottom left is the pause button.
  • Basic
    • Left click or tap at the jewel to move it to another location. You can only move one jewel at a time.
    • Move the jewels to where they can form rows of 3 or more identical jewels.
      • These will be removed from the playing field.
      • Note that you cannot create rows of more than 5 jewels manually; they sometimes form after you’ve made your move.
      • If you remove a jewel row and another one forms, these also disappear. They count as rows you removed in your previous move and do not use up your remaining moves.
      • The game encourages you to remove as many jewels as possible per move.
    • If you remove more than 3 jewels in a row, you receive explosives. Use these to clear more of the field.
    • If you don’t have any valid spaces to move, the game automatically reshuffles the field for you.
    • The more rows of jewels you remove, the higher your score.
  • Scoring
    • Often, you must reach a specific number of points to clear the level.
      • Reaching the base number of points will earn you a 1-star rating automatically.
      • You still need to meet the other goals to clear the level.
    • To earn a higher rating, surpass the point limits shown in the meter.
  • Game modes
    • Standard
      • Reach the target score within a limited number of moves.
      • If you don’t reach your score goal, it’s game over.
      • Once you run out of moves, your remaining unexploded explosives will activate in what is known as a happy moment.
    • Timed
      • Reach the target score before the timer runs out.
      • You have unlimited moves in this this mode.
      • As with the standard levels, if you run out of time, all your unused explosives will detonate at once.
    • Blocks
      • Remove all the blocks within a limited number of moves.
      • To remove a block, form a row using any of the jewels within the box.
      • If you finish before you use all your turns, you earn a happy moment that turns your remaining moves into explosives.
    • Lanterns
      • Bring down a number of lanterns within the given number of moves.
      • Lanterns will not be affected by explosives.
      • You also earn a happy moment if you achieve this goal before running out of moves.
  • Explosives
    • You earn explosives each time you clear off more than 3 jewels in a row.
      • Each one takes the place of the jewel you recently removed.
      • If you remove several rows in a single move, it’s possible to gain more of them at the same time.
      • Most explosives must be activated by moving them to a valid row of jewels of their color.
      • Rainbow bombs only need to be paired with a single jewel to work
    • Explosives are earned in different way and have different effects.
      • Dynamite
        • You earn dynamite by removing a row of 4 jewels.
        • Dynamite will remove a row of jewels.
        • The row it clears will be horizontal or vertical depending on its orientation.
      • Color bomb
        • You receive bombs by forming 2 overlapping rows that share a single jewel. These often appear in T or L shapes.
        • Once activated, color bombs will remove jewels within a 1-tile radius, plus any of the jewels in the row they form.
        • Bombs can remove up to 11 jewels at a time.
      • Rainbow bomb
        • You receive rainbow bombs after clearing 5 or more jewels.
        • Switch a rainbow bomb with any jewel to remove all the jewels of that color.
    • Explosives are crucial to end-game happy moments.
      • In standard or timed levels, this involves detonating the unused explosives at the end of the level.
      • If you finish a block or lantern level while you still have spare moves, a happy moment turns all your remaining moves into explosives.
      • The happy moment can sometimes give you an end-game score boost score boost as new rows can form in the wake of the explosions.
  • Power ups
    • Use power ups to help you out through the game.
    • Each power up has a different effect:
      • A spare turn gives you an extra move to finish the game.
      • Pick axes let you remove 1 select gem from the field.
      • Minecarts remove several gems at random.
    • You can earn power-ups in 2 ways:
      • Roll the roulette wheel every 6 hours.
      • Earn a 3-star rating on a level.
    • To use a power up, select its icon right above the playing field.
  • Roulette
    • The roulette allows you to gain 1 of 3 power ups every 6 hours.
    • To roll, select the play button at the center of the screen.
    • You can spin the roulette wheel up to 4 times in a span of a day.
