Pac-Man Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select Start to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard, use the arrow keys to change direction
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the arrow buttons onscreen with your fingers to change direction.

• Game Play
  • Moving around the maze
    • Pac-Man automatically moves by himself.
    • Turn each time he arrives on a corner or junction to keep moving.
    • Pac-Man stays still when he’s in a corner.
  • Consuming the pellets
    • There are two types of pellets.
      • Small, ordinary pellets help you finish the game.
      • Large, special pellets let you attack the ghosts for a limited time. There are only a few of these in ever level.
    • To finish the level, you must eat all the pellets in the maze.
  • Evading the ghosts
    • This game features 4 ghosts.
      • Shadow is the red ghost, and is also nicknamed Blinky.
      • Speedy is the pink ghost, and is also nicknamed Pinky.
      • Bashful is the light blue ghost, and is also nicknamed Inky.
      • Pokey is the orange ghost, and is also nicknamed Clyde.
    • The ghosts begin at the center of the maze and they leave one at a time.
      • They will be restricted to the center for quite a while.
      • Take advantage of this and collect as many pellets as you can.
      • Over time, all of them will start prowling the maze.
    • Don’t let the ghosts touch you.
    • Your only defense against the ghosts are the large power pellets.
      • The ghosts will turn a sickly dark blue upon consuming the pellet.
      • While the ghosts are blue, you can turn the tables and eat them.
      • Take out as many ghosts as you can before the effect wears off.
      • Ghosts move slower while they are in the dark blue state.
      • Blue ghosts blink for a couple seconds before going back to their normal state.
      • If you eat a ghost it will return to the center box, after which it will get out again in the normal state.
  • Lives
    • You start each session with 3 lives.
      • Each time any of the ghosts attack Pac-Man, you lose a life.
      • Lose all your lives and the session ends.
    • You earn an extra life when you reach 10,000 points and
  • Levels
    • You automatically start every game at the first level.
    • Finish one level to unlock the next.
    • Each new level is harder than the last, as the ghosts move faster.
    • Keep playing as many levels as you can.
  • Scoring
    • Each pellet is worth 10 points.
    • Each fruit you pick up is worth points.
      • The cherry is 100 points.
      • Subsequent fruits are worth more, with the strawberry being valued at 300.
      • Each fruit can appear multiple times on a level, but you have a limited amount of time to catch each.
    • Each of the ghosts you eat is worth points.
      • The first ghost is worth 200 points.
      • The scoring system uses a doubling system where the second ghost on a power pellet is worth 400, the third is worth 800, and the fourth is worth 1,600.
      • Getting all 4 ghosts on a single power pellet is worth 3,000 points.
      • Getting all 4 ghosts on each of the 4 power pellets on a stage means you can earn 12,000 points per level just from eating the ghosts.
