• Starting the Game
  • The game automatically starts at the fort screen. You can begin playing immediately.

• Game Play
  • Objectives
    • Use your gold to upgrade your fort’s defenses.
    • Take on the enemy pirate armada. From the fort, shoot down all the enemy ships before you run out of men.
  • Equipping your fort
    • You start of with a modest amount of gold. Use this to buy as many upgrades as you can.
    • There are 3 kinds of upgrades:
      • Population: Essentially acts as your hit points and represents the number of people staffing your fort
      • Fire Speed: Increases the fire rate of your cannon
      • Turn Speed: Increases the speed that the cannon moves
    • The upgrades provide a different set of combat benefits.
      • A higher population helps you survive for much longer.
      • A greater fire rate increases the number of shots you can make.
      • A faster turn rate lets you adjust your shots faster.
    • Once you’re done buying upgrades, select Defence to begin the assault.
    • Each time you finish an assault, the turn and fire speeds are reset to their default values. You will need to upgrade them again.
  • Surviving the assault
    • Shoot at the pirate ships that appear on either side of your fort.
      • Each pirate ship has a health bar indicating how much damage they can take.
      • It takes 3 shots to take out a ship
    • Pirate ships fire back, reducing your hit points.
      • Outlast the pirate ships to win the day.
      • If the pirates reduce your population to zero, you forfeit the fort and it’s game over.
      • The game restarts the days counter the moment you run out of population.
    • You earn cash each time you defeat a ship.
      • If you survive, this amount will be added to your funds for the next assault.
      • The surviving men will also carry over to the next assault.
• Tips
  • Try to aim for a balanced mix of defensive attributes, especially in the early game.
    • If you must overweight one attribute shooting quickly is important as it allows you to destroy enemy ships faster and get into a shooting rhythm.
    • You have to upgrade your features once again after each level though. The only thing that carries over is how many members you have on your team, though even those perish to some degree on each stage from all the inbound cannon fire.
  • Focus on shooting where the ships are massed
    • This way, one shot can hit multiple ships at once.
    • Incidentally, this makes single ships harder to hit on their own.
  • Keep track of the ship’s movements.
    • The ships typically move up and down on a pattern.
    • Because of the time delay between shoots, you must not shoot where the ship is but where it will be in a few seconds, leading the ship on its path.
  • When you do a lot of damage to a ship keep shooting that ship until it is destroyed before moving onto other ships.
  • Maximize how many survivors you have to reduce the costs of replenishing your troops.
