It’s Raining Monkeys Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • Press the PLAY button on the loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.

    • Move left by pressing either the A key or left arrow key.
    • Move right by pressing either the D or the right arrow key.
    • Jump by pressing either the W or the up arrow key.
    • Use the position of your mouse to control the angle of your umbrella.

  • Controls & indicators
    • Whenever you start a new level a preview screen shows what level you are on.
    • The upper left corner shows your health represented as heart containers.
    • The upper right corner shows how many of the valves you have closed & how many you must close to beat the current level.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • Your umbrella acts both as a tool to activate items, and as a shield.
    • The goal of this game is to close all the pipes & activate any switches necessary to clear a way to the level exit while maintaining your health.
    • The monkeys which are shot out of pipes can be bounced with your umbrella, whereas the monkeys bouncing on the ground can not be defeated & must be evaded.
  • Levels
    • This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a level by closing all the pipes on the level & making it to the level exit.
      • You die if you fall off platform or if you get hit 3 times by spikes or monkeys.
      • If you die the level restarts at the beginning as this game offers unlimited continues.
  • Strategy
    • Closing valves
      • When you close a valve the associated pipe shoots out many monkeys at once.
      • Try to quickly move as soon as you start closing the valve so that you are out of the way before the monkeys shoot out in bulk.
      • If you do not have enough time to move out of the way then focus on being in the best position you can be and then focus on using your umbrella.
    • Pausing
      • This game is rather short, but some parts are a bit difficult.
      • If you are struggling on a part of a level try to give yourself breathing space on either side of it & approach each obstacle or difficult part of a level as an isolated entity.
    • Using monkeys
      • On some levels you have to use the monkeys as assets rather than seeing them as enemies.
      • On level 7 the red switch is higher than you can reach, so you have to bounce a monkey across the screen from the valve on the left to the red switch on the ceiling near the right edge of the level.
      • On some levels there are spikes which you need to bounce monkeys on to use the monkeys as a temporary platform to walk on.
    • Health & dying
      • This game does not have a double jump, so be sure to activate any high valves or switches you can before falling further down the level.
      • On some levels a valve may require taking a hit from a monkey or stepping on a spike. You are temporarily invincible after getting hit, though be sure not to fall off the platform trying to evade a hit as you’ll lose the level if you fall off platform.
