Odd Squad Odd Invasion Game for Kids Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button below the title to begin.
  • Once you start, an opening video will play explaining the premise of the game.
    • Press the skip button to proceed to the game.
  • The game is narrated, and the voice over will serve as the tutorial for the first few levels.
  • Your local browser automatically saves your game progress.

  • Basic
    • Collect green dots to charge up your weapon, the Any-number-inator.
      • The green dots regenerate over time, so you can collect more after every attack.
      • Long tubes contain 10 green dots each, and boxes hold 100 green dots. These can help you save time collecting dots for higher-valued targets.
    • To defeat an invader, your weapon’s number must match that of the number hovering on top of the invader.
      • You can view the number of dots you’ve collected on the lower right corner of the screen.
      • The number must equal (neither surpass or fall short of) the number of the invader.
      • If you have too many green dots, remove a few via the delete button on the lower left corner of the screen.
    • To attack an enemy, simply approach it.
      • This can be a problem if you haven’t collected enough green dots to face an enemy yet.
      • Try to avoid enemies that you can’t face yet.
      • Use the shield power up to protect you from premature attacks.
    • When you’ve killed all the enemies, you clear the level.
  • Lives
    • You only have three lives in this game. Lose all three of them, and it’s game over.
    • The number of hearts you have left is visible on the top center corner of the screen.
    • Collecting a power up gives you a chance of retrieving a heart power up.
  • Power ups
    • Power ups come in rainbow glowing boxes strewn across the level.
    • To find out what they do, select the charged power up button on the lower right corner of the screen.
      • Music power ups stop the invaders in their tracks.
      • Heart power ups restore your health.
      • Skate power ups give you a brief boost in speed.
      • Shield power ups protect you from premature attacks.
      • Bubble power ups don’t appear to offer anything.
    • Power up boxes regenerate over time and their bonuses vary.
  • Tips and tricks
    • Avoid engaging with the enemy until you’ve collected enough dots.
    • Attack the enemies closest to you.
    • Identical-looking enemy invaders will not have the same attack number.
