Little Dino Adventure Returns 2 Game for Kids Video Game Play Instructions

• Starting the Game
  • On the welcome screen, select the following options on the left to begin:
    • Select Play Game to immediately get started. If you’ve already played before, this option is labeled as Continue and lets you pick up where you last left off.
    • Select New Game if you want to play a new game from the very beginning.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and high score.

• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • With your keyboard:
      • Use the A and D keys to move.
      • Use the W key to jump.
      • Use the K key to attack your enemies.
    • The placement of the controls makes the desktop version of the game more intuitive for left-handed users.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • With your fingers.
      • Use the arrow buttons on the bottom left corner to move.
      • Use the arrow button on the right to jump.
      • Use the attack button to fire at your enemies.
• Game Play
  • Level selection.
    • Unlike its predecessors, this game has 15 levels. This has the most number of levels in the entire series.
    • Only the first level is playable at the start of the game. Complete this level to unlock the next one, and so on.
    • You can see your high score and golden egg rating for each level on the selection screen.
  • Basic rules
    • Reach the end of the level.
    • Pick up as many collectibles as you can to earn points.
      • Pick up standard collectibles like gems and eggs.
      • Collect all the golden eggs in the level.
    • Shoot or stomp any enemies that stand in the way.
    • Unlike the previous games, this game involves more horizontal movement and resembles old side-scrolling platformers like Islander and the original Super Mario.
  • Lives and enemies
    • Lives
      • You have 3 lives in this game. Lose them all and you fail the level.
      • Your lives are shown as hearts on the top left corner of the screen.
      • Collect extra hearts across the level to replenish your lives.
      • You automatically lose all your lives if you fall into a pit.
    • Enemies
      • Making contact with enemies will cost you one life.
      • Most enemies move back and forth.
      • To deal with enemies, you must stomp or fire at them.
      • Like in the second game, your enemies gives you points each time you defeat them.
    • Shots
      • Unlike in the previous game, you can shoot down enemies with melons. Use this to take them out from a distance.
      • To take out your enemies, they must be within range. The melon shots curve downwards. Remember this when aiming.
      • You only have a limited number of melon shots.
        • You can check out on your remaining melon shots on the top left.
        • Collect melons to replenish your ammunition.
        • Once you run out of melons, you’re restricted to stomping your enemies.
      • Not all enemies are in an optimal location to be shot. Sometimes, it’s better just to stomp them.
  • Collecting and Scoring
    • Collectibles
      • This game has more items to collect than its predecessor. Besides eggs, you can also collect gems.
      • Gems, eggs, and golden eggs can be found floating in the level.
      • Some eggs can be found in box platforms.
        • Most contain only one egg, while a few others contain several.
        • Hit them with your head to collect the eggs.
    • Scoring
      • Every collectible is worth points.
        • Each egg is worth 325 points.
        • Each golden egg is worth 10,000 points. You must collect all 3 to get the best possible level rating.
        • Gems are worth 2,500 points.
      • Every enemy you defeat is worth 1,000 points.
      • Unlike the other games of the series, your score carries over each time you start the level over again.
        • However, all the collectible items will respawn. These will be added to your final score.
        • This means that you actually have a much higher score if you end up replaying the level.
  • Tips
    • Try to take out your enemies as they appear before collecting any more eggs.
    • Backtrack whenever you can. Some collectibles are located on out of the way areas that are easy to overlook.
    • Be careful when jumping. You can easily fall into a hole and undo all your progress.
    • Save the hearts. You’ll never know when you’ll need them.
    • To gain the highest possible score, you must do the following:
      • Collect all the golden eggs.
      • Pick up as many eggs and gems as possible.
      • Take out enemies.
